    Article Summary

    Available in VPC

You can create 3D modeling data systematically and conveniently in ALIKE on the NAVER Cloud Platform. You can learn more about how to use in Getting started with ALIKE and Using ALIKE, but we recommend taking a look first at the full scenarios for using ALIKE. Reading the guide after learning the usage scenarios will allow you to use ALIKE efficiently.

In ALIKE, roles are divided into admin, manager, and worker, and different roles have different usage scenarios. Learn the definitions for each role, and then check out the scenarios for each role.

    • Admin: the admin has master permissions of ALIKE, and is responsible for managing accounts, creating and assigning projects, tracking progress and managing costs.
    • Manager: the manager manages ALIKE projects assigned by the admin and tracks their progress
    • Worker: the worker can’t access the NAVER Cloud Platform console. Workers perform manual tasks with ALIKE tools such as creating building masks or correcting terrain errors in the assigned ALIKE project.

    Admin scenario

The usage scenario for an admin is as follows.

    1. Set usage permissions

If you need to manage and share ALIKE with multiple users, you can set permissions for each user. Permissions for each user can be configured as admin and user permissions through Sub Account of the NAVER Cloud Platform, and roles can be defined for each permission. The setting of usage permissions is not mandatory, so you can configure or remove them at any time when there is a need for permissions during the use of ALIKE.

If the working group that uses ALIKE need a separate manager, you can create a sub account in the Sub Account and register it as manager. If the working group doesn't need a separate manager, the main account can also act as an admin. Create sub accounts for as many managers as you need, and set permissions for them.

    Note

Sub Account is a service provided free of charge upon subscription. For a detailed description of Sub Account and its pricing plans, see the Services > Management & Governance > Sub Account menu in the NAVER Cloud Platform portal.

You can refer to the following user guide:

    2. Subscribe to ALIKE

You can subscribe to ALIKE in NAVER Cloud Platform console. You can refer to the following user guide:

    3. Register account

Register accounts of admin and manager. You must register the user's account as an admin account first, and then register the sub account you created as an manager account. You can refer to the following user guide:

    4. Create project and assign manager

Create a project to use ALIKE. You can also assign one manager as the manager of the project. You can refer to the following user guide:

    5. Monitor processing status

While the manager is running the processing, the manager can monitor its progress. You can refer to the following user guide:

    Manager scenarios

The manager’s usage scenarios are as follows:

    1. Access the NAVER Cloud Platform console

Access the NAVER Cloud Platform console using the sub account you received from the admin. Click the Services > Digital Twin > ALIKE > Project menus in that order, then view the assigned project or create a project.

    2. Upload source data

Upload source data to calculate 3D modeling data. You need to upload a total of 3 pieces of data in order.

    • EOP: data containing external facial elements, such as 3D coordinates and environmental information, to be mapped to an image or video
    • 3D output: 3D outline figure data representing spatial shape in an image or video
    • Image (aerial photo): the taken aerial photos

You can refer to the following user guide:

    3. Run auto processing

Run auto processing based on the uploaded data. You can refer to the following user guide:

    4. Monitor processing status

Once the processing has started, monitor its progress.

    • In the Using the ALIKE tool step, when you receives a review request sent from a worker after completing a task, you access the tool and perform the review. If you find a problem, you can ask the worker to correct it. When there is no problem, proceed to the next step.

You can refer to the following user guide:

    5. Download the resulting data

When processing is complete, download the generated 3D modeling data to a local PC. You can refer to the following user guide:

    Worker scenarios

Worker’s usage scenarios are as follows:

    1. Receive task information and ALIKE tool accounts

Receive information of the project assigned to you by the admin or manager, as well as access information of the tool you'll be using.

    2. Install the ALIKE tool

The worker installs the ALIKE tool necessary for their project.

    3. Access the ALIKE tool and perform the task

Using the received information, access the ALIKE tool and perform the assigned task.

    4. Request to review

When the task is done, ask the manager to review it.

    5. Perform complementary tasks

If the manager requests additional complementary tasks, check the contents of request, perform the complementary tasks, and request a review again.
