There is a glossary of terms you need to know to use Maps API. The glossary and its description are as follows:

Key-Value Observing (KVO)

Key-Value Observing (KVO) is a mechanism that uses a string representing a property as a key to access the property's value, and it keeps track of changes in the property value that corresponds to the key

Mobile Dynamic Map

A service of NAVER Cloud Platform that provides a Static Map, allowing easy display and guidance of locations on web pages without using JavaScript

REST API (Representational State Transfer Application Programming Interface)

An application interface using external web systems developed according to the structural style called Representational State Transfer (REST), where requests are specified by HTTP and responses are specified in formats such as XML and JSON (source:Telecommunications Technology Association)

Reverse Geocoding

A service of NAVER Cloud Platform that returns search results in JSON format for address lists and details by using land lot numbers, road names, and postal codes as query terms

Software Development Kit (SDK)

Tools to assist in software development (for example, App Safer provides a security Software Development Kit (SDK) capable of monitoring mobile devices for rooting, malicious apps, and counterfeit apps, and supports security inspections by receiving API calls from devices equipped with the SDK)

URL Scheme

URL Scheme is a string pattern used on the Internet to identify the location of resources or to specify access methods. URL Scheme can also be used as a method of integration between mobile apps, and URL Scheme in integration between mobile apps supports data sharing and calling of apps

Web Dynamic Map

A service of NAVER Cloud Platform offering various classes and methods to implement NAVER map functions in web services and applications, provided in JavaScript form

Inertia Dragging

An inertia effect that continues to move the map even after the user's drag action has ended

URL Scheme for integration of Maps app

A service of NAVER Cloud Platform that allows external apps or web pages to execute the NAVER Map app to perform various map functions such as displaying places, searching, routing, and navigation

Dynamic Map

A map that provides user interaction, allowing users to freely pan and zoom in/out the map

Vector Map

A map implemented with vector rendering, representing a continuous form of coordinate values. Provides a vibrant map and supports natural gestures

Static map

A service of NAVER Cloud Platform that supports a Static Map, allowing easy display and guidance of locations on web pages without using JavaScript

Geocoding

A service of NAVER Cloud Platform that returns search results in JSON format for address lists and details by using land lot numbers, road names, and postal codes as query terms

Cadastral Map

A simplified map that edits blueprints (cadastral maps, forest maps) and briefly writes down their main content. The cadastral map records the location, shape, area, purpose, scale, lot number, and boundaries of the land, and it is comprehensive national development information composed of approximately 37 million cadastral data nationwide, about 3000 development district data entries, and about 1.4 million urban planning data, and so on. Tile

A new feature of the HEVC/H.265 standard that divides the frame of an image into independent rectangular areas (source: Telecommunications Technology Association)

An animation effect where the map tile gradually appears

Map Style Editor

An editor that allows you to customize and style the components of NAVER Map content

Feature

The category of map components on the Style Editor screen

Mediator

A map editing element under Feature, with varying styling options available for each component

POI (Point of Interest)

A point of interest where users might take notice and a term that designates a specific location
