Rescan

Available in Classic and VPC

In the re-scan process, when a previously mapped area undergoes spatial or structural changes and is rescanned, this section describes how to process the newly scanned data.

The processing steps for rescanned data vary depending on the scope of the area rescanned based on the previously built map.

When a partially changed area is rescanned

  1. Run SLAM data conversion on the newly acquired data
(Skip the SLAM data merge step)
  2. In the localization list, select only the newly acquired data and run localization
  3. In the VL list, select only the newly acquired data and run VL
  4. Select all data to be used and run VL data merge
    (Including all previously processed data)
Note

If you want to replace the previous data (A) with new data (B), follow the steps below:

  1. Run SLAM data conversion on B data
  2. Run localization on B data
  3. Run VL on B data
  4. Run VL data merge by selecting all data except A

When a larger area is rescanned

If there are significant changes in the previously built map, follow the full processing workflow (SLAM data conversion > SLAM data merge > localization > VL > VL data merge).

Caution

In this case, the coordinates may differ from the existing map, so you may need to recreate the map in AMapper. As this is an exceptional case, contact customer support.
