The PRISM Live Studio PC app provides various types of sources. The source is largely divided into basic sources and PRISM sources. You can create various videos using a source for your live broadcast.

Add basic source

Video capture device

You can use a built-in camera or connect an external camera device for your broadcast.
For some video capture devices, you must install a driver to run the devices. Before you connect a device, view the latest driver on the official site.
For more information on how to connect video capture devices, which vary by product, see the official PRISM blog.

  • How to connect general camera device:
  1. First, connect the web cam to your computer.
  2. Click the add source button in the PRISM Live Studio PC app.
  3. Select [Video capture device] in the source list > check [Create new] > click the [OK] button.
Note

If you want to add the same camera device to more than 2 scenes, use the [Add existing source] option, and select the corresponding device in the list.

  1. Select the camera device in Properties popup > Device dropdown list.
  2. You can check the [Use custom audio device] option to add the audio of the corresponding device together.
  3. Click the [Filter] to add effect filters and audio/video filters.
    You can set filters, such as a color filter, which you can adjust the video screen color, and a chroma key, which is frequently used in game broadcasts. For more information on how to set filters, see 'Filter.'

Audio input capture

You can use a built-in microphone or connect an external audio capture device for your broadcast.
Click the Add source button, select [Audio input capture], and then select the audio device in Properties popup > Device dropdown list.
You can adjust broadcast voice using various audio interfaces in the broadcast.

Note

For some interfaces, you must install a driver to run them. Before you connect a device, view the latest driver on the official site.

  • How to connect audio interface:
  1. Connect the audio interface to the microphone, and then connect the USB cable of the audio interface to the computer.
  2. In Computer system settings > Sound settings > Input and output device, set all input and output devices to the audio interface.
  3. Click the add source button in the PRISM Live Studio PC app.
  4. Select [Audio input capture] in the source list > check [Create new] > click the [OK] button.
  5. Select the audio interface in Properties popup > Device dropdown list.
  6. Click the [Filter] to add audio filters.

Audio output capture

You can use the audio streamed from the sound card.

Application program audio capture (beta)

You can capture and use the output audio of a specific running application. This is a useful method to separate audio from a specific application and include it in the live stream.

Game capture

You can capture a game screen in real time and add it to the broadcast screen.

  • Capture full-screen application program: automatically captures a full-screen window. After selecting this capture method, place the mouse focus on the game to start capturing.
  • Capture specific window: captures a window you select. When you restart the game, if a window with the same title exists, it is automatically captured again.
  • Capture panorama window with shortcut key: add a source, set shortcut keys in [Settings] > [Shortcut keys] > [Game capture] > [Capture panorama window], place the mouse focus on the game, and then press the shortcut key to capture the game automatically.

Display capture

You can add a full-screen display in real time through the display source. This function is useful when you want to share the entire display, including open windows and applications.

  • Auto: automatically selects the most proper method based on your system version and graphics card.
  • DXGI desktop copy: captures the display using DX11.
  • Windows 10 (1903 or higher): captures the display using WGC.

Monitor part capture

Similar to the display capture source, you can use this source to capture the partial screen of the display. Because you can designate an area you want to capture, it is ideal when you focus on specific contents or applications.

Windows capture

Among the currently running programs, you can designate and capture a specific window to add it to the broadcast screen.

  • Auto:
    automatically sets the window capture method based on PC specifications.
  • BitBit (Windows 7 or higher):
    if the Windows version is 1903 or lower, it is recommended to use this method. However, when you use this method, you can't capture UWP windows, such as MS Office and Chrome.
  • Windows10 (1903 or higher):
    To capture MS Office and Chrome Windows, it is recommended to use this method. To use this method, however, you must update your Windows system to the 1903 version or higher.

Spout2 capture

You can easily set virtual avatars using virtual programs, such as VSeeFace, VTube Studio, and Warudo.

Browser

You can add real-time content of the web page to the broadcast screen.
Enter the address of the live chat window or widget in the URL input field to add the chat window or donation widget to the broadcast screen.
Enter the CSS code in the web source properties window to apply the styling you want.

  • End source when not visible: when you activate this option, the web page is deactivated when you hide a source or switch to a different scene.
  • Refresh browser when scene is activated: when you activate this option, the web page is refreshed when you change scenes.

Media

You can use media files, such as videos, images, and audio clips, in the live broadcast. This is a useful method to include prerecorded content as a part of the live broadcast.

Image

You can add various image files stored in the device, such as JPG, PNG, and GIF files, to the broadcast screen.

Image slide show

You can add an image slide show to the broadcast screen, and control the slide show automatically or manually.

  • How to manually control image slide show: add a source, designate a shortcut key for the image slide show in [Settings] > [Shortcut Keys], and use it to control the slide show.

Color

You can use color sources on the broadcast screen to decorate the scene in various ways.

Text (GDI+)

Add a text to the screen to display an announcement or sentence you want on the broadcast screen.
You can select a text source and enter the content directly, or import a sentence from the txt file.

Scene

You can gather the existing scenes and the sources in the scenes to add them as a new source.

Group

You can combine multiple sources into one to manage it easily.
Click the Add source button, select [Group], and add a source to the group using a dragging method.

Syphon client source (MAC)

You can capture a game screen in real time and add it to the broadcast screen.

macOS screen capture (MAC)

You can designate a specific window or app from the monitor or among the currently running programs, capture the corresponding screen, and add it to your broadcast screen in real time.

Add PRISM source

PRISM Lens

PRISM Lens, one of the PRISM series products, provides virtual background and beauty functions. To use related functions, you must install the PRISM Lens app in advance.

Note

For the Windows version, to capture audio in the PRISM Lens source, you must select the audio.
For the MAC version, to capture audio in the PRISM Lens source, you must add the "audio input capture" source separately.

PRISM mobile

Because PRISM Lens provides the mobile phone connection function, you must install the PRISM Lens app first.
You can connect the PRISM mobile app camera in the PRISM Lens app to use it as the PRISM PC app web cam source.
After you connect a mobile and PC device using the same WiFi, you can scan the QR code for easy connection.

Text template

You can easily select and add text templates of various designs with motion. You can set options you want, such as fonts, sizes, and colors, in Detailed settings.

PRISM chat

You can add the chat source of the current streaming platform to the broadcast screen.
So far, the B2B service does not support the PRISM chat source.

Viewer count widget

You can add the number of viewers by platform to the broadcast screen.
This widget is an especially useful tool for content creators and streamers, which helps you communicate with viewers by showing how many people are watching the broadcast.
So far, the B2B service does not support the PRISM viewer count widget source.

PRISM stickers

You can decorate the broadcast screen using various PRISM stickers.
Select the [PRISM stickers] menu on the side bar, and add the stickers you want.

GIPHY stickers

You can decorate the broadcast screen using various free stickers.
Select the [GIPHY stickers] menu on the side bar, and add the stickers you want.

Music playlist

Through the music playlist source, you can create a playlist with local music stored on the PC or free music provided by PRISM.
The free music provided by PRISM is music directly contracted with musicians or music for which licenses were purchased, so you can use it freely for your broadcast or recording without worrying about a breach of copyright.

Note

Downloading music files is not supported, and you can use them only in the broadcast.

Background template

You can add various images with motion as a background image source.

Clock widget

You can add a clock and timer widget designed in the PRISM style to the broadcast screen.
