# Backup prerequisites

Available in Classic and VPC

Review supported environments, specifications, service limits, network requirements, and pricing information before using Backup.

## Cloud specifications

Backup supports the following cloud environment specifications:

## Specifications

Backup supports the following server OS and DBMS specifications:

- Only DBs installed by selecting a DBMS image during server creation are supported. Cloud DB services (such as Cloud DB for PostgreSQL and Cloud DB for MySQL) are not supported.

## Service limits

Service limits for Backup are as follows:

### Network requirements

Network requirements about agent installment and communication for Backup are as follows:

## Pricing information

Backup service charges a minimum fee per created resource. Storage usage, the amount of restored data, the amount of data transferred between zones are charged in addition to the minimum fee.
