    Q. It seems the cluster isn't operating normally. How can I check and recover it?

    • Click the [View cluster status] button from the cluster list to check the cluster status.
    • If there's a problem with a Zookeeper or Kafka process, then click Restart clusters > Restart all services to restart the cluster. If the problem persists, even after the restart, then contact us at the customer center.
    • A full disk is one of the main causes for problems that occur during cluster operation. To manage disk usage, use the Cloud Data Streaming Service's Monitoring menu or Cloud Insight service and set up an event for Disk usage. For information on how to set up events using Cloud Insight, see Monitoring Cloud Data Streaming Service with Cloud Insight. NAVER Cloud Platform doesn't take responsibility for a Kafka process failure caused by a full disk.

    Q. How do I create a topic?

    • You can create a topic by connecting to CMAK. After creating a topic, you can set the number of partitions and replications. For details on how to create a domain, see Create topic in the CMAK utilization guide.

    Q. How do I modify the number of partitions in a topic?

    • You can increase the number of partitions for topics created through CMAK. Partitions can be added only, and partitions already assigned can't be deleted. For details on how to increase the number of partitions, see Change number of partitions in topic in the CMAK utilization guide.

    Q. What is the retention period of data?

    • The retention period of data for each topic can be adjusted in CMAK. The default value of data retention period is 168 hours, or a week. For details on how to adjust the data retention period, see Change topic data retention period in the CMAK utilization guide.

Can I directly access the manager or broker nodes created in the cloud data streaming service?

    • Direct access to manager or broker nodes is not allowed.

    Q. I got an email stating that the broker node has stopped due to the risk of disk usage. What should I do?

    • If a broker node's disk usage is kept at 95% or above, then an email will be sent before a disk full failure occurs. To solve the problem, change the data retention period of the topic in CMAK (half of the current period is recommended), and then restart the broker node from the console. When the broker node is restarted, the data that has passed the retention period will be deleted and the normal operation will resume.
    • If the disk usage reaches 100% and the broker node has stopped, then it will be difficult to recover it through CMAK. Please contact the customer center.

    Q. A cluster's logs are not being collected.

    • Clusters created before November 25, 2021 don't collect logs. Contact us at the customer center if log collection is required.
