    Article summary

    Available in VPC

This section describes how to import and export files to and from Cloud Data Box. Since file import and export uses the Object Storage of NAVER Cloud Platform, you must request subscription to Object Storage, create a bucket, and upload the files to it.

    Note
    • Object Storage service usage fees are charged separately. For more information on the usage fees of Object Storage, go to the portal and see Object Storage.

    Request file import

Once a data supply request has been made, all external network connections are blocked. You can only transfer necessary files into the data box via the file import feature. A file import request must be made after uploading the files to the Object Storage bucket and before submitting the data supply request. To request file import, follow these steps:

    1. Access NAVER Cloud Platform's console and click Services > Big Data & Analytics > Cloud Data Box > Import in order.
    2. Check the data box you want to import files to and click the [Request import] button.

    3. When the import window appears, select a NAS you want to import files into.

    4. Select the bucket containing the files to import, enter the files' names, and click the [Add] button.

    5. Once all files have been registered, click the [OK] button.
      • You can see the import request results in the Import menu.
      • You can access Cloud Hadoop edge node or Ncloud TensorFlow Server to see the files requested to be imported from the nasw.
    6. Check the import status.

    Note
    • You can request up to 10 files to be imported at once.
    • Each file may reach up to 500 MB in size.

    Requesting file export

Once a data supply request has been made, all external network connections are blocked. You can only transfer necessary files out of the data box via the file export feature. As exporting source data is prohibited, a file can only be exported after being approved by the export review process.
To request for file export, follow these steps:

    1. Access NAVER Cloud Platform's console and click Analytics > Cloud Data Box > Export in order.
    2. Check the data box you want to export files to and click the [Request export] button.

    3. Select an Object Storage bucket you want to store the exported files in.
      • If there is no bucket, go to Object Storage and create one.
    4. Select the NAS storing the files to be exported.
      • You can only export files stored in the nasw mounted on Cloud Hadoop edge node or Ncloud TensorFlow Server.
    5. Enter the names of the files to be exported, their file types, and type information, and describe the exported files in detail. Then, click the [Add] button.
      • Descriptions should be detailed to facilitate the review process.

    6. Once all files have been registered, click the [OK] button.
    7. Check the export status.
      • You can see the export request results in the Export menu.
      • Once your request has been processed and approved, you can download the files from the Object Storage bucket you selected when requesting file export.

    Data export standards

As a data box is a tool that produces a complete analysis output within a box, the export of incomplete output for further analysis outside the data box is discouraged. While we have set a size limit on files for export to that end, allowances on exportability can be made for special cases after a consultation.

    • Exportable formats: analysis output in the forms of table, model, code, or image
    • Description for exported data required
      • Common: description of the objective and the result of the analysis (Form to fill out provided)
      • Table: number of rows and columns, and description of each column and extraction process
      • Model: output code and description
      • Source code: description of code objective and simple annotation in the code
      • Image: created code and description

    Inexportable data

Data can only be exported if it meets all of the following conditions. If any are not met, the data cannot be exported.

    • Source data or partial source data
    • User unit data
    • Zip file
