    Article Summary

    Available in Classic and VPC

The following describes how to import files into and export files from Cloud Data Box. Since file import and export uses the Object Storage of NAVER Cloud Platform, you must request subscription to Object Storage, create a bucket, and upload the file to the bucket.

    Note
    • Object Storage service usage fees are charged separately. For details about Object Storage usage fees, refer to the Object Storage page in the portal.

    File import request

Once data supply is requested, external communications are blocked, and the only way to transfer necessary files to the databox is through the file import feature. You must upload the file, which you plan to import, to Object Storage's bucket first, and then request file import before requesting data supply. The following describes how to request file import.

    1. From the NAVER Cloud Platform console, click the Services > Big Data & Analytics > Cloud Data Box > Import menus, in that order.
    2. Check the databox to import files to, and click the [Request import] button.

    3. When the Import window appears, select the NAS where files will be imported to.

    4. Select the bucket containing the file to import, enter the file name, and then click the [Add] button.

    5. Once the file to import has been added, click the [Confirm] button.
      • You can see the import request result in the Import menu.
      • Connect to Cloud Hadoop's edge node or the Ncloud TensorFlow Server to check the imported file that you requested from the nasw.
    6. Check the import status.

    File export request

Once data supply is requested, external communications are blocked, and the only way to transfer necessary files out of the databox is through the file export feature. Exporting original data is prohibited, and only the files that passed export review may be exported.
The following describes how to request file export.

    1. From the NAVER Cloud Platform console, click the Analytics > Cloud Data Box > Export menus, in that order.
    2. Check the databox to export files from, and then click the [Request export] button.

    3. Select the Object Storage bucket to export files to.
      • If you don't have a bucket, then you must first create a bucket in the Object Storage menu.
    4. Select the NAS containing the file to export.
      • Files can only be exported from the nasw mounted to the Cloud Hadoop's edge node or Ncloud TensorFlow Server.

    5. Enter the name and detailed description of the file to export, and then click the [Add] button.
      • Please remember that a detailed description of the file makes the review process smoother.

    6. Once the file to export has been added, click the [Confirm] button.
    7. Check the export status.
      • You can see the export request result in the Export menu.
      • Once the review is completed, the file can be downloaded from the Object Storage bucket you selected during the file export request.

    Data export criteria

A databox is a tool for generating completed analysis results. Exporting intermediate results for additional external analysis should be avoided. Therefore, there are file size limits on the exported data. In special cases, whether or not a file can be exported may be determined through a separate agreement.

    • Data that can be exported: analysis results in the form of tables, models, codes, and images
    • Description of the data to be exported is mandatory.
      • Common: analysis purposes and description of the results (form)
      • Table: description of each column and calculation processes, and number of rows and columns
      • Model: the code used for calculation and its description
      • Source code: brief annotations within the code and description for the purpose of the code
      • Image: the code used for creation and its description

    Data that can't be exported

Data to be exported must meet all of the following criteria. Otherwise, it can't be exported.

    • Original data in part or whole
    • Per user data
    • Compressed file
