    1. Set usage permissions

Set the usage permissions of CLOVA OCR. Usage permissions of CLOVA OCR are defined by mapping role" to sub accounts issued by NAVER Cloud Platform's Sub Account. Therefore, you need to first create sub accounts other than your main account through Sub Account.

    Note

The Sub Account service is provided free of charge upon subscription request. For the introduction on Sub Account and details about its pricing plans, refer to the Service > Management & Governance > Sub Account menu in the NAVER Cloud Platform portal.

You can use sub accounts provided by Sub Account to configure admin permissions and user permissions of CLOVA OCR. You can refer to the following guide:

    2. Create domain

Create a domain to begin producing your CLOVA OCR service. A domain is a unit that becomes the basis for operation and management of features provided by CLOVA OCR, such as template creation, channel linkage, and statistical information search. The domain creation method differs slightly by service type. You can refer to the following guides:

    • Domains whose service type is General: OCR that extracts text/tables
      • Creation and management methods: General
    • Domains whose service type is Template: OCR that supports template builder, which can directly specify analysis areas, extract recognized values, test them, and then send results
      • Creation and management methods: Template
    • Domains whose service type is Document: OCR equipped with a specialized model engine that understands document's semantic structure based on machine learning, and automatically extracts key values
      • Creation and management methods: Document

    3. Set OCR by service type

Once you've created a domain for each service type, you need to set up each service type to use the actual OCR feature. You can refer to the following guides:

    • Domains whose service type is General: General
    • Domains whose service type is Template: Template
    • Domains whose service type is Document: Document

    4. Linkage settings

Set linkage with NAVER Cloud Platform's API Gateway and Object Storage required for the use of CLOVA OCR. API Gateway is required for setting invoke URLs to use the CLOVA OCR API, and Object Storage is required for the use of the batch feature. You can refer to the following guides:

    5. Call API
