Available in VPC
Data Box Frame is a service to build an analysis environment for NAVER Cloud Platform that allows analysts to analyze the customer data freely and the data manager to put restrictions on unauthorized data export. Just as Cloud Data Box provides services for NAVER search and shopping data, it can leverage the customer data to provide services to analysts in the same form as Cloud Data Box.
With Data Box Frame, you can create and manage analysis infrastructure such as Cloud Data Box and set up a direct connection to or blocking of external networks yourself. It also provides procedures to review and approve your data import processing and analysis results analyzed by analysts and export requests, thereby preventing data leakage.
Starting October 23, 2025, new subscriptions to Data Box Frame and the ability to add or change analysis environments per Box will no longer be available. For related information, see Announcements.
Data Box Frame features
- Provide services using customer data: You can provide analytics services by supplying customer data.
- Provide an analytics environment for data utilization: For efficient data analysis, you can easily configure diverse analytics infrastructure such as Ncloud TensorFlow Server and Hadoop Cluster, and you can analyze data using multiple tools provided by default, such as Jupyter Notebook and Zeppelin.
- Secure data storage: In a cloud-based computing environment, security is strictly maintained, and unauthorized export of data by users is restricted, so you can safely protect customer data and analysis results.
- Linked analysis with analyst data: You can import analyst data and software into the Data Box Frame service through the import function and perform various analyses by linking them with customer data. Once the customer decides whether to export through the export request and export approval process, the analysis result can be exported for continuous follow-up analysis.
- Analysis infrastructure and analysis data sources selectable by the customer: Depending on the customer’s analysis objectives and scale, you can freely configure infrastructure and provide Data Boxes to deliver analytics services.

Q. How is the Box of Data Box Frame configured and accessed?
A. Data Box Frame is configured in the VPC environment of NAVER Cloud Platform, and you can manage the Box information by forwarding it to the analysts. The analyst can access the Box remotely using the information forwarded by you.
Q. Can I use other analysis framework and analysis software other than TensorFlow or Hadoop provided by NAVER Cloud Platform?
A. For any other analysis framework and analysis software you need, you can import the installation file of the analysis framework or analysis software through the import feature provided by the Data Box Frame, import it into the Box, and use it after installing the installation program and package. However, while Linux server provides root permission and there are no restrictions on installation, Windows server currently provides general user permissions instead of admin permissions for security reasons, so there may be restrictions on installation.
