    There are a few key terms you must know to use Data Catalog. The terms and their descriptions are as follows.

    Glob Pattern

    A method of specifying a set of multiple file names using wildcards.

    Reload

    A function to restart catalog creation when the connection to the catalog is unstable, or when the catalog is in a normal state but the scanner is not working properly or the database is not being created.

    Metadata

    Classifier

    A classification function to determine the schema of data when metadata is collected through a classifier scanner.

    Scanner

    A function that automatically infers the schema of the data according to the scanner operating option and creates a table suitable for the data

    Schema

    Connection

    A function to set access information to connect to a data source when metadata is collected through a connection scanner

    Tag Template

    A function to provide templates for easy setup without having to regenerate the same list of tags each time

    Tag

    A function to set keys and values for each data type in a database or table in the catalog for easy contextualization and retrieval of tag data
