You can migrate large capacity data quickly by using Data Teleporter of NAVER Cloud Platform. You can learn more about how to use Data Teleporter at Getting started with Data Teleporter and Using Data Teleporter, but we recommend that you first look at the full scenario of using Data Teleporter. Reading the guide after learning the usage scenario will allow you to use Data Teleporter more smoothly. Please check the scenario according to the purpose of using Data Teleporter.
- Import data (import): import data from on-premise storage to NAVER Cloud Platform storage
- Export data (export): import data from NAVER Cloud Platform storage to on-premise storage
Import data (import)
To import data from on-premise storage to NAVER Cloud Platform storage, the full sequence of using Data Teleporter and the description of each sequence are as follows.
1. Set usage permissions
2. Create import task
3. Request import support service
4. Device encryption
5. Device receipt and network environment settings
6. Data transfer to device
7. Deliver device to engineer
8. Transfer data to NAVER Cloud Platform storage
9. Return device
1. Set usage permissions
If you need to manage and share Data Teleporter by multiple users, you can operate it by setting permissions for each user. Permissions for each user can be configured as administrator and user permissions through sub accounts in NAVER Cloud Platform, and roles can be defined for each permission. Since permission settings are not required, you can set or cancel the settings at any time in situations where permission is required while using Data Teleporter.
Sub Account is a service provided free of charge upon subscription request. For an introduction on Sub Account and more information about its pricing plans, see the Services > Management & Governance > Sub Account > Sub Account menu in the NAVER Cloud Platform portal.
You can see the following guides.
2. Create import task
Create the import (import data) task in the console. You can see the following guides.
3. Request import support service
After creating the import (import data) task in the console, request technical support service through Customer support. You can see the following guides.
4. Device encryption
When the request for technical support is approved and the device is assigned to the task, encrypt the device by entering the password in the console. You can see the following guides.
5. Device receipt and network environment settings
After receiving the device, activate the equipment and configure the network environment to connect to the on-premise environment. You can see the following guides.
6. Data transfer to device
Remotely connect to the device and transfer the data from on-premise storage to the device. You can see the following guides.
7. Deliver device to engineer
Complete the data transfer to the device, and deliver the device to the engineer of NAVER Cloud Platform. You can see the following guides.
8. Transfer data to NAVER Cloud Platform storage
When the device is connected to NAVER Cloud Platform's IDC, the device is activated in the console and the device's data is transferred to NAVER Cloud Platform storage. You can see the following guides.
9. Return device
Request returning device in the console. Returned device is reset and data is deleted. When selecting Delete data permanently item to Requested when creating data, delete data permanently by overwriting. You can see the following guides.
Even if the device has been returned, if the device return has not been requested, additional costs may occur, so be sure to request device return.
