You must become familiar with a few terms to use Global DNS. The glossary and its description are as follows.
Alias
An aliasing feature that maps a specific domain to another domain; similar to a CNAME record, except that the alias can also be mapped to the root domain.
DNSSEC (Domain Name System Security Extensions)
Internet standard technology to prevent data forgery attacks on DNS data targets
Global DNS
NAVER Cloud Platform's service that recognizes the domain names used on the internet as their actual corresponding addresses
Name server
A server that holds IP information for a specific domain and translates a website's domain address into an IP address
Name Server Record (NS Record)
Specifies the DNS server (name server) of the owned domain. Generally used when it is delegated so that another DNS server manages the subdomain name.
Domain registration agency
An agency or company that is certified by ICANN or a governing authority to register and manage domain names
Canonical Name Record (CNAME Record)
Record that specifies the alias for a domain name. (For example, if a server with the canonical domain name "server2" is also used as the "www" server, then it specifies "www" as the alias for "server2".)
Domain zone file
A text file describing a DNS zone; contains mapping information between domain names, IP addresses, and other resources
Sender Policy Framework Record (SPF Record)
Record that specifies security policies. It mainly specifies IP addresses of servers that sent spam mails so they cannot impersonate email addresses, to prevent spam mails, and sets text information on domains of TXT(domain description) record. Used for the same purpose as the SPF record in general.
Mail eXchanger Record (MX Record)
Information that can specify mail servers of user-owned domains and subdomains
Internet Protocol Version 6 Address Record (AAAA Record)
Record that specifies the IPv6 address corresponding to the domain name so that you can find the IPv6 address by domain name. Can specify the IPv6 address of the owned domain and its subdomains.
Address Mapping Record (A Record)
Record that assigns the IP address that corresponds to the domain name, so you can find the IP address using the domain name. Can assign IP addresses (PIv4) of the owned domain and its subdomains.
Time to Live (TTL)
Method of displaying expiration dates of data on computers or networks
Text Record (TXT Record)
A type of resource record that sets text information on domains. Used for the same purpose as the SPF record in general.
Pointer Record (PTR Record)
Record that specifies the domain name corresponding to the IP address so that the domain name can be found using the IP address. Opposite concept of the A Record.
