Available in Classic and VPC
You can add domains in Record, configure records for added domains, and change the DNSSEC status.
Record interface
To access the Record interface, navigate to
> **Services **> **Networking **> Global DNS > Record in the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
The Record interface includes the following components:

View domain information
To view the details of a domain added to Global DNS:
- Navigate to
> Services > Networking > Global DNS in the NAVER Cloud Platform console. - Click the Record menu.
- From the domain list, select the domain you want to view.
- Review the domain information displayed on the screen.
- Domain information
- Domain: The domain name you entered.
- TTL: The time during which the name server caches and stores the response for domain requests. Displayed in seconds.
- Master NS: The domain name of the master name server for the domain zone.
- Refresh: The interval at which the system checks whether the domain zone data has been updated.
- Retry: The retry interval used when the system fails to verify whether the domain zone data has been updated due to issues such as errors. Displayed in seconds.
- Expire: The period after which the domain zone is discarded if data updates cannot be verified even after repeated retries. Displayed in seconds.
- Serial: The version number of the domain zone. This value increases by 1 each time record values are changed and deployed.
- Record information
- Host: The host name you entered.
- Domain: The domain name you entered.
- Record type: The selected record type.
- Record value: The entered record value.
- TTL: The interval at which the name server refreshes the record. Displayed in seconds.
- Request time: The date and time when the record was first created.
- Last modified time: The date and time when the record was last updated.
- Domain information
Add a domain
To add a domain, you must first add a domain name that you purchased or registered with a domain name registrar, and enter the related records.
Add a domain name
To add a domain name registered with your domain name registrar to Global DNS:
- Navigate to
> Services > Networking > Global DNS in the NAVER Cloud Platform console. - Click the Record menu.
- Click [Add domain].
- In the Add domain popup, enter the required information.
- Name: Enter the domain name. Letters, numbers, hyphens (-), and wildcards (*) are allowed.
- A hyphen (-) cannot be used as the last character.
- If you use a wildcard (*), no other characters are allowed.
- Apply DNSSEC: Select whether to enable DNS Security Extensions (DNSSEC), a technology that prevents DNS data tampering.
- If enabled, you must register the automatically added DS record with your domain name registrar.
- Description: Add a brief description of the domain.
- Name: Enter the domain name. Letters, numbers, hyphens (-), and wildcards (*) are allowed.
- Click [Add].
- It may take several minutes for the domain to be added. Once the domain is successfully added, it appears in the domain list, and the circular status icon changes from yellow to blue.
Add a record
To add a record to a domain:
- Navigate to
> Services > Networking > Global DNS in the NAVER Cloud Platform console. - Click the Record menu.
- From the domain list, select the domain to which you want to add a record.
- Click [Add record].
- In the Add record popup, enter the record information.
- Host name: Enter the host name in the field labeled as the record name.
- Record type: Select a record type from the dropdown menu labeled as A.
- For more information about each record, see DNS record types.
- TTL: Select the record refresh interval from the dropdown menu labeled as (5 minutes) 300 seconds.
- If you set a long TTL, updates to the record are delayed. Keep the default value whenever possible.
- If a long TTL is set, reduce the TTL before editing the record, and increase it again after the edit is complete.
- Alias: Select a domain with the same record type as the record being added to use as an alias.
- You can only set domains added to Global DNS.
- If you select an A record and use Alias, you can connect to a load balancer (LB) in the VPC or Classic environment.
- Record value: Enter multiple values that match the selected record type.
- Click
to add up to 10 records at once.
- Click [Add].
- The entered information is added to the record list.
- The record is added to Global DNS but has not yet been deployed to the DNS servers. To deploy the record to the active DNS servers, apply the settings.
Bulk add domains
If you want to add a large number of domains, you can prepare the data in an Excel file and upload it to the console in bulk.
To bulk add domains:
- Navigate to
> Services > Networking > Global DNS in the NAVER Cloud Platform console. - Click the Record menu.
- Click [Upload] at the top of the screen.
- In the Upload popup, click [Download upload template] to download the template file.
- Enter the domain information in the downloaded template file and save it.

- In the Upload popup, drag and drop the file into the Drag and drop file here or click to select area, or click the area to select a file.
- Once the file is recognized, validation starts automatically. Validation may take several minutes to complete.
- Review the validation results. If any records fail to upload, take appropriate action.
- Failed records are highlighted in red. Review the failed records and either edit the file or delete the failed records so that only successful records remain. If no action is taken, the record addition process does not complete successfully.
- Click [Download failed items] to download an Excel file that contains only the failed records.
- Click [Delete all failed items] to delete all failed records.
- After completing all actions, click [Add] in the popup.
- The record application process starts and may take several minutes to complete.
- Review the record deployment results displayed in the popup, and click [OK].
* The domains are added to the console, and the records are applied immediately.
Migrate V1 domains
You can migrate domains registered in the beta version DNS (deprecated) v1 to Global DNS. To migrate domains:
- Navigate to
> Services > Networking > Global DNS in the NAVER Cloud Platform console. - Click the Record menu.
- Click [Import existing V1 domains] at the top of the screen.
- In the Registration popup, review the domains registered in the existing DNS, select the domains to migrate, and click [Register].
- Click [Register all] to migrate all domains.
Change record settings
You can edit or delete records added to Global DNS.
Edit a record
You can edit the record type, value and TTL.
- SOA records cannot be edited.
- NS records can only have their TTL edited.
To edit a record:
- Navigate to
> Services > Networking > Global DNS in the NAVER Cloud Platform console. - Click the Record menu.
- From the domain list, select the domain that contains the record you want to edit.
- From the record list, select the record to edit, and click [Edit record].
- You can select multiple records.
- In the Edit record popup, edit the content of the entered record.
- You can change the record type, TTL, and record value.
- To use Alias, select Use and enter a domain to which a record of the same type is applied.
- After editing is complete, click [Save].
- The record is edited but has not yet been deployed to the DNS servers. To deploy the record to the active DNS servers, apply the settings.
Delete a record
To delete a record:
SOA and NS records cannot be deleted.
- Navigate to
> Services > Networking > Global DNS in the NAVER Cloud Platform console. - Click the Record menu.
- From the domain list, select the domain that contains the record you want to delete.
- From the record list, select the record to delete, and click [Delete record].
- You can select multiple records.
- In the Delete record popup, click [Yes].
- The record is deleted but has not yet been deployed to the DNS servers. To deploy the record to the active DNS servers, apply the settings.
Apply settings
When records are added, edited, or deleted, they are shaded in the record list. These changes are applied when they are deployed to the name servers.
To apply the changes:
- Navigate to
> Services > Networking > Global DNS in the NAVER Cloud Platform console. - Click the Record menu.
- From the domain list, select the domain to which you want to apply the changes.
- Click [Apply settings] at the top of the screen.
- In the Apply settings popup, review the changes and click [Deploy].
- The changes are applied to the name server.
- If you click [Cancel changes], the changes are not applied to the servers, and the console screen is restored to the state before the changes were made.
View registrar settings information
To view the settings required by your domain name registrar to use Global DNS:
- Navigate to
> Services > Networking > Global DNS in the NAVER Cloud Platform console. - Click the Record menu.
- From the domain list, select the domain you want to view.
- Click [Registrar settings information] at the top of the screen.
- Review the settings information and click [OK].
Change DNSSEC status
To enable or disable DNS Security Extensions (DNSSEC), a technology that prevents DNS data tampering:
- Navigate to
> Services > Networking > Global DNS in the NAVER Cloud Platform console. - Click the Record menu.
- From the domain list, hover over the
for which you want to change the DNSSEC status, and click Change DNSSEC status. - In the Change DNSSEC status popup, select whether to enable or disable DNSSEC, then click [Save].
- When DNSSEC is enabled,
appears next to the domain name in the domain list, and a DS record is automatically added and applied. To ensure normal service operation, add the DS record to the domain settings at your domain name registrar. - When DNSSEC is disabled,
disappears, and the DS record is automatically deleted. To ensure normal service operation, remove the DS record from the domain settings at your domain name registrar.

Delete a domain
To delete a domain that is no longer in use:
- If the domain has records other than SOA and NS, the domain cannot be deleted. Delete the record first, then delete the domain.
- Deleting a domain from Global DNS does not delete the domain name that was purchased or registered with your domain name registrar. To delete the domain name itself, delete it at your domain name registrar.
- Navigate to
> Services > Networking > Global DNS in the NAVER Cloud Platform console. - Click the Record menu.
- From the domain list, hover over
you want to delete, and click Delete domain. - In the Delete domain popup, click [Delete].
- The domain is deleted and removed from the list.
