IPsec VPN Terminology

Available in Classic and VPC.
There are a few terms you need to know to use IPsec VPN. The terminologies and their descriptions are as follows.
DPD (Dead Peer Detection)
A function that checks whether the opposite IPsec VPN gateway (peer IP address) is active when there is no traffic in the VPN session.
IKE (Internet Key Exchange)
A protocol used to perform authentication and negotiate session keys for encrypting traffic.
Peer IP
The public IP address of customer's external network’s IPsec VPN Gateway
Virtual Private Gateway (VGW)
A feature in VPC that acts as a connection point between VPC and connected external devices. Must be created for external connections.
Virtual Private Gateway Group
A group that handles the routing of secure communication between the VPC network and the on-premise section and connects them to the Virtual Private Gateway by grouping them.
VPN Gateway
A connection point needed to create a virtual tunnel to connect my PC or network to a private network that is inaccessible from outside the VPN gateway
VPN Tunnel
A virtual medium through which two VPN gateways are connected to carry encrypted traffic
On-premise
On-premise company's server is not operated in a remote environment such as a cloud, but is directly installed and operated in a server owned by the company's own computer room.
Internet security protocol virtual private network (IPsec VPN)
A NAVER Cloud Platform service that provides a network that connects the external customer network and the network in NAVER Cloud Platform through an encrypted tunneling communication
Private Subnet
Service that provides an independent virtual network environment that allows internal communications between servers
