Restream channel creation and management

In the restream channel creation and management, we explain how to create and view detailed information on re-stream channels, as well as how to manage them.

Create restream channels

By creating a restream channel, you can stream live shows on various platforms such as YouTube, Twitch, and AfreecaTV simultaneously.
The following describes how to create a restream channel.

1. Click the environment you are using in the Region menu and Platform menu of the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
2. Click Services > Media > Live Station menus, in that order.
3. Click the Re-stream Management menu.
4. Click the [Create Restream Channel] button.
5. Set the default settings for the restream channel you want to create.
   • Select product type: select restream products based on the maximum number of restream platforms possible
     • Standard: able to restream on up to 3 platforms
     • Professional: able to restream on up to 5 platforms
   • Channel type: select the channel type according to the service environment you want to apply
     • Depending on the service environment to be applied, you can set the channel type to REAL/DEV/STAGE.
     • The channel type is a simple identifier, and there is no difference in channel functionality.
   • After entering the restream platform information, click the [Add] button.
     • Restream platform: select the restream platform from the drop-down menu
     • Streaming information: enter the URL, including the RTMP protocol
     • Stream key: enter the stream key
     • Use authentication information: if RTMP authentication is required on the restream platform, click to select and enter the authentication information (ID, password)
6. After checking the setting information, click the [Create Re-stream Channel] button.
7. Check the details in the live creation pop-up window, and then click the [OK] button.

View restream channel details

The following describes how to view the details of the restream channel you created.

1. Click the environment you are using in the Region menu and Platform menu of the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
2. Click Services > Media > Live Station menus, in that order.
3. Click the Re-Stream Management menu.
4. Click the channel name whose details you want to view.
   • Channel name: channel name for re-streaming
   • Channel status: the status of the channel
     • Creating: the status in which the channel is being created
     • Ready: the ready status without any video source input, which is displayed after the channel is created, or after streaming has ended
     • Streaming: the status of streaming successfully in the created channel
   • Number of re-stream platforms: number of platforms available for restreaming
   • Streaming information: RTMP to enter in the encoder and stream for doing a broadcast
   • Channel type: the type of the channel
   • Channel ID: the ID of the channel
   • Channel usage hour: time spent streaming through the channel
   • Recent streaming start time: recent streaming start date and time
   • Event notification settings: event notification configuration status

Edit restream platform information

The following describes how to edit restream platform information.

1. Click the environment you are using in the Region menu and Platform menu of the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
2. Click Services > Media > Live Station menus, in that order.
3. Click the Re-stream Management menu.
4. Click on the channel name to edit the restream platform information.
5. In the [Restream platform] tab, click to select the restream platform you want to edit, and then click the [Edit Target Stream] button.
6. When the restream RTMP stream edit pop-up window appears, click the [Edit] button for the item you wish to edit and enter the edited content.
7. Click the [Edit Again] button for the edited item.
   • If the [Edit Again] button is displayed, the [Edit] button is disabled and you cannot complete the edit.
8. Click the [Edit] button.
   • The modifications are applied.

Terminate restream channels

The following describes how to terminate a restream channel.

1. Click the environment you are using in the Region menu and Platform menu of the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
2. Click Services > Media > Live Station menus, in that order.
3. Click the Re-stream Management menu.
4. In the restream channel list, click to select the channel you wish to terminate, and then click the [Terminate Channel] button.
   • You can also click the [Terminate Channel] button on the channel details page after clicking the channel name.
5. Check the details in the channel termination pop-up window, and then click the [Delete] button.
   • The channel will be terminated and removed from the restream channel list.
