Image Optimizer service introduction
Image Optimizer
Image Optimizer is a cloud-based real-time image conversion service where you can resize an original image to fit resolutions for various devices such as mobile, tablet, PC, etc.
You can conveniently link and use different services for image conversion ranging from storage - image conversion - CDN - log analysis. The conversion is allowed in the pre-set types only, so charging of unintended fees can be reduced.
All features can be easily used through the web-based console.
Getting started with Image Optimizer
Create project
After accessing NAVER Cloud Platform Image Optimizer's console, click [Create project].
Step 1. Create project
- Enter the project name.
- For the individual project, each policy and storage can be set.
- Select a source image.
- When handling Object Storage as a source
- If a budget does not exist in Object Storage, create a budget with reference to Object Storage guide.
- If the bucket to be integrated is an SSE encrypted bucket, a thumbnail to be temporarily stored is encrypted and stored.
- Select a bucket to load a source image.
- If a budget does not exist in Object Storage, create a budget with reference to Object Storage guide.
- When handling HTTP URL as a source
- Enter an allowed download domain except for "http://" and "https://."
- Enter a source domain to use a source image.
- Example: If you desire to use the following image URL as a source, enter "xv-ncloud.pstatic.net."
- https://xv-ncloud.pstatic.net/images/service/media/img-opt-resize61.png
- Enter an allowed download domain except for "http://" and "https://."
- When handling Object Storage as a source
- Select the CDN to integrate.
- Create new: a CDN is created along with the channel. You can obtain the playback URL of the channel after the CDN creation is complete
- Use custom CDN: select to integrate a CDN connected to Image Optimizer
Image Optimizer is a service that requires integration with Global Edge CDN. Set up a Global Edge profile. If a profile does not exist, create a profile in the Global Edge console. For more information, see Global Edge guide.
Step 2. Set log collection
- Click [Subscribe to Cloud Log Analytics].
- Proceed to the next step.
Step 3. Final check
- After checking all settings, create a project.
Set conversion rule
Limit unintended or maliciously large volume of image conversion requests by allowing image conversion requests registered in conversion rule. It takes some time to actually apply added or deleted conversion rules.
- Add conversion rule through easy input. To create conversion rule query string, see Query String creation guide.
- Save the written conversion rule query string.
- Download the saved conversion rule in an Excel file.
- Delete the selected conversion rule.
Import conversion rule
- Click [Import conversion rule].
- You can import conversion rule stored in another project or import conversion rule from the downloaded Excel file.
Delete converted image
- Click [Delete converted image].
- Select a source image in the bucket or enter a file name including the direct path to delete a converted image file from the file.
In the case of using HTTP URL as the source, the converted image deletion feature is provided only when using Global Edge CDN.
Preview converted image
- Click [Preview] of the rule that you desire to preview.
- Select an image file in Object Storage and click [Preview].
- Click [Copy Image Conversion Link] to copy the image conversion link.
View image conversion history
After accessing NAVER Cloud Platform Image Optimizer console, go to theUsage Statistics menu.
① Select All or a project to view.
② Select a search period.
③ View the conversion history based on search conditions.
④ You can download a graph as an image file.
Edit project
You can edit the source image storage or download domain of an existing project, or change the CDN connected to the project.
When handling Object Storage as a source
- Object Storage bucket change: you can change the Object Storage bucket for downloading the source images.
When handling HTTP URL as a source
- HTTP URL change: you can change the HTTP URL for downloading the source images.
Change CDN
- You can change the Global Edge connected to Image Optimizer to a newly created CDN or an existing CDN.
- You can change projects connected to the existing CDN+ to a new CDN, Global Edge. In this case, the project can use both CDN+ and Global Edge CDN.
