Snapshot use and management

Available in Classic

You can create and manage snapshots for NAS volumes.
You can create snapshots and restore NAS volumes using the data stored in the snapshots.
To access the Snapshot menu, access the NAVER Cloud Platform portal and navigate to [Console] > i_menu > Services > Storage > NAS > Snapshot.

Snapshot interface

The snapshot interface includes the following components:

Component Description
① Menu name Name of the menu currently being viewed and the number of NAS volumes with snapshots created.
② Basic features Service overview page, download snapshot list, and refresh list.
③ Post-creation features Change snapshot settings, create a snapshot immediately, and snapshot setting logs.
④ Snapshot list Displays a list of NAS volumes for which snapshots have been created and their details.

View snapshot list

To view snapshot information created for each NAS volume in the list of NAS volumes with snapshots:

  • You may view the list if you have 1 or more NAS volumes with snapshots. If there is no NAS volume that created a snapshot, the list isn't displayed in the snapshot interface. For more information about how to set snapshots, see Snapshot settings.
  • Up to 7 automatically created snapshots are stored. When there are more than 7 snapshots, the oldest snapshot is deleted. The snapshots generated by Create snapshot immediately are stored without limitations as long as the snapshot capacity allows.
  1. In the Classic environment of the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to i_menu > Services > Storage > NAS.
  2. Click the Snapshot menu.
  3. In the list of NAS volumes with snapshots, check the summary information or click a NAS volume to view its details.

    • Name of NAS volume: Name of the NAS volume.
    • Zone: A zone where the NAS volume is located.
    • Requested volume size: Size of NAS volume requested at creation.
    • Snapshot allocation size: Capacity allocated to snapshots out of the requested capacity.
    • Automatic creation of snapshot interval: Automatic creation of snapshot interval configured in snapshot settings.
    • Restore: Restores the NAS volume using the data in the snapshot.
    • Delete: Deletes the snapshot.

Change snapshot settings

To change snapshot settings:

  1. In the Classic environment of the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to i_menu > Services > Storage > NAS.
  2. Click the Snapshot menu.
  3. Select the NAS volume for which you want to change the snapshot settings.
  4. Click [Change snapshot settings].
  5. Change the settings in the Snapshot setting popup, then click [OK].
    • If you select Do not create a snapshot, the NAS volume and its snapshots are deleted from the list.

Create snapshot immediately

To create a snapshot immediately:

  1. In the Classic environment of the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to i_menu > Services > Storage > NAS.
  2. Click the Snapshot menu.
  3. Select the NAS volume for which you want to create a snapshot immediately.
  4. Click [Create snapshot immediately].
  5. Click [OK] in the Create snapshot immediately popup.

Snapshot setting log

To view the snapshot setting change history:

  1. In the Classic environment of the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to i_menu > Services > Storage > NAS.
  2. Click the Snapshot menu.
  3. Select the NAS volume for which you want to view the snapshot change history.
  4. Click [Snapshot setting log].
  5. View the snapshot setting change information in the Snapshot setting log popup, then click [OK].
    • Click [Download] to download snapshot setting log as an Excel file.
    • You can view the snapshot setting information for the past 3 months in snapshot setting log.

Recover snapshots

To restore NAS volumes using snapshots:

Caution

After you restore a NAS volume using a snapshot, all snapshots created after the snapshot used for the restoration are deleted.

  1. In the Classic environment of the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to i_menu > Services > Storage > NAS.
  2. Click the Snapshot menu.
  3. Click the NAS volume you want to restore.
  4. Click [Recover] on the snapshot to be used for recovery.
  5. Click [OK] in the Snapshot recovery popup.

Delete snapshot

To delete a snapshot:

  1. In the Classic environment of the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to i_menu > Services > Storage > NAS.
  2. Click the Snapshot menu.
  3. Click the NAS volume that contains the snapshot you want to delete.
  4. Click [Delete] of the snapshot.
  5. Click [Delete] in the Delete snapshot popup.
