Available in VPC
There are several terms that you need to know to use Neurocloud. The terms and their definitions are as follows:
Bidirectional Forwarding Detection (BFD)
A protocol for detecting bidirectional transfers to find errors occurring between two connected switches or between routers
Gigabit Interface Converter (GBIC)
A transmitting and receiving device that converts digital current to optical signals and vice versa. Typically used for a high-speed network interface in fibre optic and Ethernet systems, with a data rate of 1 Gbps. Also, as a plug-in module, it is easy to configure and replaces without system interruption, and can be upgraded individually or entirely (Source: Korea Telecommunications Technology Association)
Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP)
The method of controlling creation of a single logical channel by grouping multiple physical ports. For more information, see IEEE Standard Documentation
Network ACL (NACL)
Stateless-based operation with the ability to support network access control for Inbound/Outbound on a Subnet in a VPC
Network Interface Card (NIC)
A device for connecting a computer, such as a PC or server, to a network. Also known as a network card, Ethernet card, LAN adapter, or LAN card. It has a software (a network drive) that creates a logical connection between a PC and an NIC, sending information from the PC to the NIC, storing it in a buffer, and then sending it out in serial format for the network. Different cards are used for different networks, including Ethernet, Token Ring, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, and Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) (Source: Korea Telecommunications Technology Association)
On-premise Gateway (OGW)
Logical interface for communication between the client's On-Premise network and the Neurocloud VPC
RFC 1918
See IETF Standard Documentation
Virtual Private Cloud (VPC)
A service that provides a dedicated private network for customers that is in completely logically separate from the public cloud environment
VPC peering
A feature guarantees private connection between VPCs
Network Address Translation Gateway (NAT Gateway)
A service of NAVER Cloud Platform that provides a device that connects multiple servers with unauthorized IPs to customers’ host with an Public IP on the Internet
Multitenant
Occasions when computing resources of multiple different service providers or users reside in one data center at the same time. The computing resources, IP addresses, and traffic belonging to the existing objects must be independently available of the resources of other entities (Source: Korea Telecommunications Technology Association)
Workloads
Quotas of tasks to be executed by the system in a given period of time (Source: Korea Telecommunications Technology Association)
Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
A service that rents out data center resources such as servers and storage over the Internet. Users can use the infrastructure required in a cloud environment, install operating systems and applications, and operate the desired services without having to build their own data center
Access Control Group (ACG)
A service of NAVER Cloud Platform that manages network access to servers by filtering IP address/port number
Platform as a Service (PaaS)
A service that provides a platform for software services development. Users can select services they need from PaaS to develop their applications. PaaS providers make it easier for developers by providing the APIs they need to develop software
