Using Object Migration explains the interface layout of the Object Migration menu, how to create, edit, and delete migration policies, and how to start and stop migrations.
Object Migration interface
The Object Migration interface includes the following components:

Create a migration policy
To create a migration policy:
Note
- To create a migration policy, you must have a target bucket created to store the migrated data. Before creating a migration policy, apply for Object Storage usage and create a bucket. For more details, see the Object Storage user guide.
- Data migration between buckets on the NAVER Cloud Platform is not supported.
- From the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to
> Services > Migration > Object Migration. - Click [Request migration].
- When the Request migration policy popup appears, enter the policy name.
- Policy name: The basis for managing migration policies. Must be within 100 characters.
- Special characters other than '., -, _' cannot be used.

- Enter origin information.
- Origin: Select the data's original location
- Currently, only AWS and AZURE are supported ('23.6.15)
- Selecting AWS
- Region: Enter AWS region information
- Example: us-east-2, ap-northeast-2, etc.
- Bucket: Enter the name of the bucket where the data is stored
- Prefix: Enter if you want to move only a specific group of files
- Move only specific groups of files based on detailed paths and prefixes, including folders
- If not entered, all data stored in the bucket will be migrated
- Access Key: Enter the Access Key required to access the AWS bucket
- Security Key: Enter the Security Key required to access the AWS bucket
- Region: Enter AWS region information
- Selecting AZURE
- Container name: Enter the Azure container name
- Prefix: Enter if you want to move only a specific group of files
- Move only specific groups of files based on detailed paths and prefixes, including folders
- If not entered, all data in the storage will be migrated
- Storage account name: Enter the Azure storage account name
- Access Key: Enter the Access Key to access the container in Azure
- Origin: Select the data's original location
- Enter target information.
- Bucket: Select the target bucket to store the migrated data
- Click [Create Bucket] to move to the bucket creation interface (See Create a new bucket)
- Prefix: Enter if you want to migrate data to a detailed path
- Data cannot be migrated to a KMS bucket.
- Bucket: Select the target bucket to store the migrated data
- Click [OK].
- The migration policy is created and added to the list.
Start migration
To start migration:

Allow sufficient time when planning, as we cannot guarantee the speed or time of data migration.
- From the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to
> Services > Migration > Object Migration. - From the list of migration policies, click to select the migration policy you want to migrate.
- Click [Start].
- In the Start migration popup, click [OK].
- The migration will begin, and the status will change to Migrating.
Stop migration
To stop a migration that is in progress:
- From the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to
> Services > Migration > Object Migration. - From the list of migration policies, click to select the migration policy you want to stop migrating.
- Click [Stop].
- In the Stop popup, click [Stop].
- In the notification popup, click [OK].
- The migration policy status will change to Stopped. To restart the migration, see Start migration.
Edit a migration policy
To edit a migration policy:

- The cloud environment where the original data is located and the target bucket cannot be edited.
- Migration policies can be edited in the following cases:
- After the migration policy has been created but before migration starts
- If an error occurs in the migration policy and the policy cannot be used
- If migration has been completed
- If migration has been stopped
- From the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to
> Services > Migration > Object Migration. - From the list of migration policies, click to select the migration policy you want to edit.
- Click [Edit].
- When the Request migration policy popup appears, apply the changes you wish to make.
- For a detailed description of each item, see Create a migration policy.
- Click [OK].
Delete a migration policy
To delete a migration policy:

Migration policies can be deleted in the following cases:
- After the migration policy has been created but before migration starts
- If an error occurs in the migration policy and the policy cannot be used
- If migration has been completed
- From the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to
> Services > Migration > Object Migration. - From the list of migration policies, click to select the migration policy you want to delete.
- Click [Delete].
- When the Delete policy popup appears, click [Delete].
- The migration policy will be deleted and will disappear from the list.
