    Article Summary

    Available in Classic and VPC

Server on NAVER Cloud Platform allows you to create, operate, and manage servers easily and conveniently. You can check how to use it in detail in Getting started with Server (VPC/Classic) and Using Server (VPC/Classic), but look at the full scenarios of using Server first. If you read the guide after learning the usage scenario, you can use Server more efficiently. The overall sequence of using Server and the description of each sequence are as follows:

    1. Set usage permissions
    2. Create server
    3. Set port forwarding or public IP
    4. Set ACG
    5. Get admin password
    6. Access server
    7. Server use and management
    8. Server termination
    9. Troubleshooting server

    1. Set usage permissions

If you need to manage and share Server with multiple users, you can set the permissions for each user. Permissions for each user can be configured as administrator and user permissions through Sub Account of NAVER Cloud Platform, and roles can be defined for each permission. Since setting usage permissions is not mandatory, you can set or remove them at any time whenever new permission is required while using Server.

    Note

Sub Account is a service provided free of charge upon subscription. For introduction to Sub Account and detailed description of the pricing plan, see the Service > Management & Governance > Sub Account menu of NAVER Cloud Platform portal.

    See the following user guides:

    2. Create server

Select a server image and server type to create a server. See the following user guides:

    3. Set port forwarding or public IP

To use the server for service purposes or to access the server created in the VPC environment, assign a public IP. Also, in the Classic environment, set port forwarding to access the server to which only the public IP is assigned through the Internet. See the following user guides:

    4. Set ACG

Set the Access Control Group (ACG) that acts as a firewall to control the network access of the created server. See the following user guides:

    5. Get admin password

Check the admin name and password required to access servers. See the following user guides:

    6. Access server

Connect to the created server using the PC's terminal program or remote desktop connection. Access a Linux server through a terminal program of the PC, and access a Windows server through remote desktop connection from the PC. See the following user guides:

    7. Server use and management

You can use various functions necessary for using the server.

    • Create a My server image to store the current state of the server in use, and then create a server with the same information by using the saved server image
    • Create a script to execute automatically when creating a server, to simplify the initial environment configuration, and create a server using that script
    • Create a script for initial server environment configuration, create a server image including this script, and then create a server using that saved server image
    • Connect additional storage to the server
    • Create a storage snapshot to save data, and then create a storage using that snapshot
    • Create a private subnet to enable internal communication between servers
    • Assign an additional network interface to a server
    • Change server settings

    See the following user guides:

    8. Server termination

Stop and terminate servers that are no longer in use. See the following user guides:

    9. Troubleshooting server

If there is a problem while using the server, you can solve it. See the following user guides:
