    Public IP describes the screen configuration of the Public IP menu and public IP information, and explains how to request for and manage the public IP.
    You can request public IPs and use for services or to access the created server.

    Caution

    The requested public IP will occur fees even when not assigned to a server. If you are not using the public IP, terminate it and request again when needed.

    Note
    • Public IPs can be created in proportion to the number of created servers.
    • You can only connect a public IP to servers in a subnet where the Internet gateway is set.

    Check public IP information

    You can check public IP information on the Public IP page.

    Public IP page

    From the NAVER Cloud Platform portal, click the Console > Services > Compute> Server > Public IP menus, in that order, to view the Public IP page.

    The Public IP page is laid out as follows:

    • Public IP (Instance ID): public IP address and automatically granted unique ID
    • Status: current status of public IP
      • Creating: status where a new public IP is being created
      • Running: status where public IP can be normally used
      • Setting: status where the settings requested by the user are being applied
      • Deleting: status where public IP is being deleted
    • Applied instance: name and type of the server to which the public IP is applied
    • Applied instance VPC: VPC where the serve with the public IP applied is arranged
    • Private IP: private IP of the server to which the public IP is applied
    • Creation date and time: date and time of creating public IP

    Request public IP

    The following describes how to request a public IP.

    1. Click the environment you are using in the Region menu and the Platform menu on the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
    2. Click Services > Compute > Server, in order.
    3. Click the Public IP menu.
    4. Click the [Request public IP] button.
    5. From the Request public IP pop-up window, select the server to assign the public IP, and then click the Next button.
      • To create a public IP without assigning it to a server, select Unassign.
    6. Check the details, and then click the [Create] button.
      • The newly created public IP will be displayed on the list.

    Assign public IP

    The following describes how to assign an unassigned public IP to a server.

    1. Click the environment you are using in the Region menu and the Platform menu on the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
    2. Click Services > Compute > Server, in order.
    3. Click the Public IP menu.
    4. From the public IP list, click to select the public IP to assign to the server, and then click the [Assign to instance] button.
    5. From the Assign to server pop-up window, select the server to assign the public IP, and then click the [Assign] button.
      • The server is assigned to the public IP, and the name of the server to which the public IP is assigned is displayed on the Applied instance in the public IP list.

    Remove public IP assignment

    The following describes how to remove an public IP assigned to a server.

    1. Click the environment you are using in the Region menu and the Platform menu on the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
    2. Click Services > Compute > Server, in order.
    3. Click the Public IP menu.
    4. Click to select the public IP you want to unassign from the public IP list, and then click the [Remove from instance] button.
    5. Check the Remove from server pop-up message, and then click the [Yes] button.
      • The public IP is removed from assignment.

    Return public IP

    The following describes how to terminate a public IP you don't use.

    Note

    You can't terminate a public IP assigned to a server. If the public IP you want to terminate is assigned to a server, Remove the public IP assignment first.

    1. Click the environment you are using in the Region menu and the Platform menu on the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
    2. Click Services > Compute > Server, in order.
    3. Click the Public IP menu.
    4. Click to select the public IP you want to terminate from the public IP list, and then click the [Terminate public IP] button.
    5. From the Terminate public IP pop-up window, check if it is the public IP you want to terminate, and then click the [Yes] button.
      • The public IP is terminated and disappears from the list.

    Set transit VPC connection

    You can delegate the currently assigned public IP to the transit VPC created for the Service Function Chain configuration, Once configuration is complete, requests to a delegated public IP come into a transit VPC, not a general VPC.
    To set a transit VPC connection, follow these steps:

    1. From within the VPC environment on the NAVER Cloud Platform console, click Services> Networking> VPC in order.
    2. Click the Public IP menu.
    3. Click the [Set transit VPC connection] button.
    4. When the Set transit VPC connection popup window appears, enter the setting information.
      • In the [Set public IP connection] tab, you can delegate a specific public IP to a transit VPC.
        • Target VPC to connect: select a general VPC that has a public IP
        • Transit VPC to connect: select the transit VPC to which you want to delegate a public IP
      • In the [Set auto connection] tab, you can set to automatically delegate all the public IPs that will be created in the future to the transit VPC.
        • Transit VPC: select the transit VPC to delegate a public IP
        • Target VPC for auto connection: select a general VPC to create a public IP
    5. After checking the setup information, click the [OK] button.
    Caution

    Before you set the transit VPC connection, you must check the route settings for the general VPC and the transit VPC.
