Windows Ncloud Tool Kit (Windows NTK) is a tool kit for inspecting Windows server provided on NAVER Cloud Platform. The provided features are as follows:

  • Windows server status diagnosis and automatic editing feature
    • Check required scripts and files
    • Set the startup scripts
    • Install the VM Tool and check its operation status
    • View IP configuration
    • Default network interface DHCP status
    • View local users
    • KMS verification status
    • RDP setting status
    • Domain assignment status
    • NTP setting status
    • Memory dump and paging setting status
    • Environment variables status
    • Cloud Insight agent's installation and operation status
    • DNS setting status
    • Firewall setting status by profile
    • GPU card recognition status and view related event logs
  • Download log data collected by Windows NTK
  • Upload log data collected by Windows NTK
  • Update Windows NTK (automatically updates to latest version when running Windows NTK)

Windows server status diagnosis and automatic editing feature

You can diagnose the status of the Windows server and identify the issues and causes of them using Windows NTK.

Note
  • When there are problems on the server, automatic measures can be taken with the Repair feature.
  • If the repair fails during the automatic measures, manual measures may be required. If necessary, take manual measures by following the manual measure items.

Ncloud File

Check the required scripts and files.

Script File Check the existence of ncloud.bat, ncloud.vbs files
  • NTK execution result:
    NCLOUD Files are not exist [Not Ok]
  • If the ncloud.bat is not in the path
  • If the ncloud_auto.vbs file is not in the path
  • If neither file is in the path
Automatic measures: download the deleted files to a certain directory

      Group Policy Check if the proper startup file is running
      • NTK execution result:
        NCLOUD GPO is abnormal [Not Ok]
      • If the startup setting is missing
      • If the startup is set but no ncloud.bat file
      		 Automatic measures: download the files to the correct directory

      VM Tool

      Check if Xentools is installed and the related services operate.

      VM Tool Status Check if Xentools is installed or related tasks are executed
      • NTK execution result:
        Xentools is not installed [Not Ok]
      • If Xentools-related apps are missing
      • If Xentools-related services are not running
      		 Manual measures: reinstall Xentools following the Xentools reinstallation guide included in the guide

      Network Config

      Check the network setting information.

        Ethernet 2 is DHCP Disabled [Not Ok]
      		 If the default NIC setting is not DHCP Manual measures: set the default NIC to DHCP in accordance with the guide
      Route Table View Route Table - -

      System Config

      Check the system setting information.

      Windows Activation View Windows activation status and setting status
      • NTK execution result:
        Windows activation is not verified [Not Ok]
      		 If it fails to activate Automatic measures: assign the proper product key for the operating system, reset the activation server and the port, then try activation again
      Remote Configuration Check RDP-related registry values and RDP-related firewall rules
      • NTK execution result:
        Remote Desktop is disabled [Not Ok]
      • If RDP-related registry is an unintended value
      • If RDP-related inbound firewall rules are disabled
      		 Automatic measures: restore RDP-related settings, such as firewall rules and registry values
      Dump Configuration View dump configuration, such as DebugMode, PagingFile settings, and so on - -
      Domain View domain status - -
      Ntp Configuration View NTP settings
      • NTK execution result: NTP Server Setting is abnormal. [Not Ok]
      		 If the NTP server set in the server does not match the NTP server set in the default image Manual measures: set the NTP server to the NTP server address in the notification
      Environment Configuration View environmental variable settings
      • NTK execution result:
        Environment Path setting is abnormal. [Not Ok]
      		 If System32 is not included in the server's environmental variables Automatic measures: add C:\Windows\System32 to the server's environmental variable
      DNS Configuration View DNS settings
      • NTK execution result:
        DNS Server Configuration is abnormal.[Not Ok]
      		 If the DNS server set in the server does not match the DNS server set in the default image Manual measures: set the DNS server to the DNS server address in the notification
      Firewall Configuration View domain, private, and public firewall status
      • NTK execution result: Public Firewall is on. [Not Ok]
      		 If firewall is On for a specific Profile Manual measures: output a message advising to turn off the firewall
      GPU Status If it is GPU server, view GPU's status, DeviceID, PCI Slot, and related events - -

      Application

      Check the status of the agent provided by Ncloud.
