    Article Summary

    Available in Classic

This page provides instructions on how to forcibly stop or terminate servers on the console when server problems occur while creating or operating servers.
When an error occurs on the server, the issue can be recognized through Server Status Check, and the [Force stop] or [Force terminate] button is enabled to solve it.

    Note

For more information on Server Status Check, see Server Status Check.

    Force stop

When an error occurs while using servers, the [Force stop] button is enabled. You can directly stop the server with a problem using the Force stop function. If an issue has occurred in the server, but the [Force stop] button is not enabled or the button does not work properly, contact Customer support.
The force stop function works in the following servers:

    • Servers exposed in the Services > Compute > Server menu on NAVER Cloud Platform's console in the Classic environment
    • Kubernetes Service (NKS) worker node server in NAVER Cloud Platform
    • Auto Scaling server

When Server Status Check alarm occurs

When the server status is as follows on the console, the Server Status Check alarm and [Force stop] button are enabled.

If about 10 minutes or so has passed since the server was restarted or stopped

    • Server status: Restarting or Stopping

    • Server Status Check notification message: the server reboot or stop was not completed properly. A server status check is required. To force stop the server, click the [Force stop] button on the console.

    Note

For Windows servers, OS update may be in progress. It may not be a server error, so be sure to connect to the server and check the actual status of the server.

When the server hangs during server operation and the server does not work normally

    • Server status: Running
    • Server Status Check notification message: server status check is required since the guest agent has been deactivated. To force stop the server, click the [Force stop] button on the console.

    Run force stop

To force stop, select the server to stop from the server list and click the [Force stop] button.

    Force terminate

When an error occurs while creating servers, the [Force terminate] button is enabled. Using the force terminate function, you can forcibly terminate the server that's having issues. When a server issue occurs, if the [Force terminate] button is not enabled or the button does not work properly, contact Customer support.
The force terminate function works in the following servers:

    • Servers exposed in the Services > Compute > Server menu on NAVER Cloud Platform's console in the Classic environment
    • Servers created with a server image
    Note
    • NKS worker node server and Auto Scaling server do not support the function.
    • Servers created with default images do not support the function. If you have any issues, contact Customer support.

When Server Status Check alarm occurs
