    Once you've checked the supported environment and required specifications for SMARTWORK, you're ready to get started with the service. The next step is to request a subscription to the SMARTWORK service. You can request and manage subscriptions in the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
    SMARTWORK is supported on PC, web, and mobile app for your convenience. Users can download and install the mobile app to easily and flexibly manage content and collaborate in real time, wherever and whenever.
    The following summarizes what you can learn from this guide.

    • From the NAVER Cloud Platform console, you can:
      • Request a SMARTWORK free trial
      • Upgrade a bundle
      • Switch to a bundle
      • Switch to a paid service
      • Cancel a subscription
    • From the PC and mobile, you can:
      • Access the Admin page and configure the settings
      • Use the service (See the user guide for each service)

    This guide describes how to request a subscription to a bundle that includes NAVER WORKS + WORKPLACE. Individual product subscriptions can be processed from the console of the corresponding product. For more information on how to request a subscription to individual products, see the guides below.

    Request a SMARTWORK free trial

    The following describes how to request a subscription to a bundle that includes NAVER WORKS + WORKPLACE from the NAVER Cloud Platform console.

    Caution

    When you request a subscription to SMARTWORK, you are automatically subscribed to a trial version and able to use it for 30 days free of charge. Once the trial period ends, you can no longer log in to each of the services in the SMARTWORK solution, and all data saved in the individual services will be deleted. To keep your data secure, switch to a paid service before the 30-day trial period ends. For more information on how to switch to a paid service, see Switch to a paid service.

    1. Access the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
    2. Click Solutions > SMARTWORK.
    3. Click [Request free trial].
    4. In the solution subscription page, click [Request subscription] in the NAVER WORKS + WORKPLACE bundle subscription section.
    5. In the product subscription screen, follow the steps below.

    1. Select a product

    Select a bundle and click [Next]. For more information on available bundles and supported features, see Supported features by bundle.

    2. Enter basic information

    Enter the account information and basic information and click [Next].

    The information required upon subscription and subscription procedure vary depending on the product. You can select the group name and domain name for NAVER WORKS Lite and are required to set up the domain for BASIC and Premium.

    Note
    • A domain name is an address for a specific company or organization on the Internet. When you subscribe to the NAVER WORKS Lite + WORKPLACE Basic bundle, you can use a domain name in an email address format to log in.
    • A group refers to a group of members that can communicate or collaborate in the group unit, such as projects or clubs. You can also sign up using personal ID@group name when you're not using a domain.
    • Using a domain name

      • Access URL (Company ID): enter a unique URL to use to directly access WORKPLACE with your company account and click [Check for duplicates] to check if you can use the URL.
      • Domain name: enter a domain name to use in NAVER WORKS and WORKPLACE and click [Check for duplicates] to check if you can use the domain name.
        • Click [Domain guide] to see more information about domain registration.
      • Admin ID/Admin password: enter the ID and password to use for the administrator account in NAVER WORKS and WORKPLACE.
        • The login ID is in the administrator's personal ID@domain name format.
        • You can use one administrator account for both NAVER WORKS and WORKPLACE.
      • Country: select the country where your business is located. Currently, SMARTWORK can only be created in Korea.
      • Time zone: select the time zone. The time zone based on the country information is displayed by default.
      • Default language: select a language. The selected language will be set as default.
    • Using a group name (when NAVER WORKS Lite is selected)

      • Access URL (Company ID): enter a unique URL to use to directly access WORKPLACE with your company account and click [Check for duplicates] to check if you can use the URL.
      • Group name: enter a group name to use in NAVER WORKS and WORKPLACE and click [Check for duplicates] to check if you can use the group name.
        • Click [Group name guide] to see more information about group name registration.
        • You can change the group name from the Basic Settings > Company Information menu in the NAVER WORKS Admin page.
      • Admin ID/Admin password: enter the ID and password to use for the administrator account in NAVER WORKS and WORKPLACE.
        • The login ID is in the administrator's personal ID@group name format.
        • You can use one administrator account for both NAVER WORKS and WORKPLACE.
      • Country: select the country where your business is located. Currently, SMARTWORK can only be created in Korea.
      • Time zone: select the time zone. The time zone based on the country information is displayed by default.
      • Default language: select a language. The selected language will be set as default.

    3. Agree to the terms

    Read and agree to the Terms and Conditions and click [Agree and get started].

    4. Complete the request

    Review the information and click [OK].

    Note

    It may take up to 1 minute to set up. We will send you a notification email to the admin email address when it is completed.

    Upgrade a bundle

    When you're using the SMARTWORK solution as a bundle, you can upgrade to a higher bundle that has more features than your current bundle.

    The following describes how to upgrade your bundle.

    1. Access the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
    2. Click Solutions > SMARTWORK.
    3. Click [Upgrade].
      • If you're using the highest tier bundle, the [Upgrade] button will not be displayed.
    4. Select a product and click [Next].
    5. In the upgrade confirmation pop-up, review the information and click [Upgrade].
    Note

    It may take up to 1 minute to upgrade. We will send you a notification email to the admin email address when it is completed.

    Switch to a bundle

    If you're using the SMARTWORK solution as an individual product, you can switch to a NAVER WORKS + WORKPLACE bundle.

    The following describes how to switch from an individual product to a bundle.

    1. Access the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
    2. Click Solutions > SMARTWORK.
    3. Click [Change solution].
      • You can also click [Request subscription] for a service you're not subscribed to in the product section and click [Request bundle] in the pop-up for switching to a bundle.
      • WORKBOX can only be subscribed to as an individual product.
    4. Select the bundle and click [Next].
    5. Enter the account information and basic information and click [Next].
      • Issue initial password: enter the password for the account.
        • Set by user: enter an email address to receive an email with password instructions. An employee can reset their password directly from the link in the email. Set by Admin: passwords are set by the administrator. The admin should pass the initial password they set to the employee, and the employee should change the password when they log in to NAVER WORKS and WORKPLACE.
    6. Read and agree to the Terms and Conditions and click [Agree and get started].
    7. Review the information and click [OK].

    The steps to switch from an individual product to a bundle are the same as those used to request a free trial for a SMARTWORK solution bundle, except the settings for issuing the initial password. For more information, see Request a SMARTWORK free trial.

    It may take up to 1 minute to bundle the products. We will send you a notification email to the admin email address when it is completed.

    Switch to a paid service

    Once the trial period ends, you can no longer log in to each of the services in the SMARTWORK solution, and all data saved in the individual services will be deleted. To continue using the service, you need to switch to a paid service before the trial period expires.

    The following describes how you can switch to a paid service for each product in the SMARTWORK solution.

    1. Access the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
    2. Click Solutions > SMARTWORK.
    3. Click [Configure] for your current product in the product section.
      • You can also select a product in Services > Business Applications and click [My Product] for the product in the menu on the left.
    4. Click [Switch to paid service] or [Switch to paid] in the My Product menu for the product.
    5. Follow the steps to switch to a paid service for the product.

    Cancel a subscription

    You can cancel or schedule to cancel a subscription to the SMARTWORK solution in the NAVER Cloud Platform console. The following describes how to cancel your subscription.

    Caution
    • Once you cancel the SMARKWORK subscription, you can no longer use the service, and all data will be deleted permanently. We recommend that you back up your data in each service before canceling the subscription.
    • If you're using an annual commitment plan, the discount amount and 10% of the usage fees for the remaining days are charged as a penalty as specified in the Terms of Service. This penalty cannot be paid by credits. Your normal usage fees are charged separately from the penalty.
    • A penalty applies if you cancel the subscription before the annual commitment period ends. To cancel your subscription without penalty, set the cancellation date as the next day of the end date of the contract period.
    • If you schedule to cancel a subscription, no payment will be made after the cancellation date. You can cancel the scheduled cancellation at anytime before the scheduled cancellation date.
    • Any schedules you previously made, such as schedules to switch to a paid service or contract renewal conditions, will be reset.
    Note

    If you're using a SMARTWORK bundle with a group company and its affiliates, see the instructions below on the cancellation of the service.

    • The affiliates are combined in the organization chart. To cancel a subscription for an affiliate, you must cancel the subscription to both NAVER WORKS and WORKPLACE at the same time. You also need to select the same cancellation dates for both services.
    • You cannot cancel a subscription for the main company if its affiliate is still subscribed to the service. Change the main company first or cancel the subscription for all affiliates before canceling the subscription for the main company.

    Cancel a subscription

    The following describes how to cancel a subscription immediately.

    1. Access the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
    2. Click Solutions > SMARTWORK.
    3. Click [Cancel subscription]./
    4. Select the service to cancel a subscription.
    5. Select today for Cancellation date.
    6. The selected service will be canceled. In the pop-up window, type in the text "Cancel the subscription to the selected service" and click [Cancel subscription].
      • This will cancel the subscription of the selected product immediately, and all data will be deleted.

    Schedule a cancellation

    The following describes how to schedule to cancel a subscription.

    1. Access the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
    2. Click Solutions > SMARTWORK.
    3. Click [Cancel subscription].
    4. Select a service to schedule a cancellation.
    5. Select Cancellation date.
      • To cancel your subscription without penalty before the annual commitment contract ends, set the cancellation date as the next day of the end date of the contract period.
    6. The selected service will be canceled. In the pop-up window, type in the text "Cancel the subscription to the selected service" and click [Cancel subscription].
      • On the scheduled cancellation date, the subscription to the selected service will be canceled, and all data will be deleted.
    Note

    If you want to cancel only one service of the SMARTWORK bundle, see the instructions below.

    • When you cancel WORKPLACE and use NAVER WORKS only
      • Use the same login ID, but reset the NAVER WORKS login password.
      • All members, except the top-level administrator, are required to reset their password using the password reset feature.
    • When you cancel NAVER WORKS and use WORKPLACE only
      • All integration settings related to NAVER WORKS will be reset.
      • Various integration settings provided by default in the SMARTWORK bundle, such as Work Talk/WorkNoti (a business bot service), widgets and shortcuts in the Home screen, and out-of-office notifications linked to the calendar, will be canceled.

    Access the Admin page and configure the settings

    You can access the Admin page for each of the NAVER WORKS, WORKPLACE, WORKBOX services and configure the main administrative settings.

    The following describes how to access the Admin page.

    1. Access the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
    2. Click Solutions > SMARTWORK.
    3. Click [Admin] in the product section in the SMARTWORK dashboard.
      • Alternatively, click [Configure] in the product section in the SMARTWORK dashboard.
      • To access the page through different paths, see the user guide for each product.
    4. Follow the steps in the Admin Settings page or Settings Wizard of each product to complete the settings.

    Use the service

    For more information on how to use NAVER WORKS, WORKPLACE, and WORKBOX, see the user guide for the service.

    Note
    • NAVER WORKS + WORKPLACE bundle

      • The Mail and Calendar menus from NAVER WORKS are provided at the top of the WORKPLACE screen.

      • Use the NAVER WORKS service without a separate login process just by logging in to WORKPLACE.

      • View WORKPLACE's approval requests, out-of-office schedules, and more in NAVER WORKS.

      • The organization and member information can be managed only in WORKPLACE but can also be viewed in NAVER WORKS. (Exceptions: NAVER WORKS' exclusive features such as Group and Device Security)

      • The Mail and Drive services are not available to NAVER WORKS Lite users.
