You might run into the following problems when using Ncloud Single Sign-On. Find out causes and possible solutions.

Adding MFA to an External IdP account

I want to add Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to an External IdP account.

Cause

I want to strengthen authentication for SSO user logins.

Solution

You can strengthen authentication for SSO user logins by implementing two-factor authentication such as SMS, email, or OTP.

To implement two-factor authentication, follow these steps:

1. In the NAVER Cloud Platform console, click > Services > Management & Governance > Ncloud Single Sign-On in order.
2. Click the tenant menu.
3. In the Tenant screen, check External IdP login > Set login.
4. Change the setting to apply two-factor authentication.
5. Select Possession authentication item.
   • You can select either email, SMS, or both email and SMS.
6. Click the [save] button.

Unable to retrieve user information when integrating with Microsoft Entra ID

I cannot retrieve user information when integrating with Microsoft Entra ID.

Cause

This may occur if the SAML Attribute Name value sent from the IdP does not match the value set in the SP.

Solution

Make sure to enter the claim name set in Microsoft Entra ID exactly into the External IdP Parameter.

To enter a value in the External IdP Parameter, follow these steps:

1. Go to Microsoft Entra ID integration > Attribute Mapping settings and check the claim name field.
   
2. Go to Microsoft Entra ID integration > Attribute Mapper settings to access the Attribute Mapper settings screen on NAVER Cloud Platform.
3. Enter the claim name into the External IdP Parameter field.
   • You must enter the claim name, not the claim value.
   • If the claim name is "firstName," enter "firstName" into the External IdP Parameter field as well.
