Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) glossary

You must become familiar with a few terms to use VPC. The glossary and its description are as follows:
ACG (Access Control Group)
A stateful-based firewall service that controls and manages network access between servers
Internet Gateway
A connection point between a subnet and the Internet, enabling Internet access for Public subnets linked to an Internet gateway
NAT Gateway
A connection point used by a private subnet with limited Internet access to communicate with the outside world, minimizing the exposure of the IP address
Network ACL (Network Access Control List)
A stateless service that controls network access between subnets
Route Table
Routing rule data that defines network routes by entering destinations and targets
Subnet
A network area that is subdivided for a specific purpose within an assigned VPC and can be assigned a network address from /16 to 28
Virtual Private Gateway
A secure connection point between a VPC and an external network device to improve availability when connecting to a customer's on-premises environment
VPC
A service that provides a completely logically separate, customer-only network in the public cloud with IP network space up to /16 (IP band: RFC 1918)
VPC Peering
A private connection service with other VPCs that provides one-way communication
Private Link
Connects the customer's VPC and various services as a private network
Creates an endpoint interface to connect with an endpoint service
