You might run into the following problems when using Web service Monitoring System. Find out causes and possible solutions.
Missing event notifications
I set up event notifications, but I am not receiving any SMS or emails.
Cause
- Notification settings for that URL are turned off.
- You are not registered as a notification recipient.
- Event filtering settings are incorrect.
Solution
View notification settings
To check your notification settings:
- In the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to
> Services > Management & Governance > Web service Monitoring System. - In the Web Monitoring menu, click the
> Notification settings menu for the monitoring item you want to set. - When the Notification settings window appears, enable the notification ON/OFF item and click [Apply].
Check filtering events
If the event type you want to receive notifications for is being filtered, you will not receive notifications, so you will need to remove it from the filtering list.
To check the list of filtered events:
- In the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to
> Services > Management & Governance > Web service Monitoring System. - In the Web Monitoring menu, click the
> Filter settings menu for the monitoring item you want to set. - When the Filter settings window appears, check whether the event type you want to receive notifications for is being filtered out, and then remove it from the list.
- Click the [Apply].
Check registration of notification recipients
To check if you're registered as a notification recipient in Notification Recipient in the NAVER Cloud Platform console:
- In the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to
> Services > Management & Governance > Notification Recipient. - Check if you are registered as a recipient on the list of recipients.
- If you are not registered as a recipient, see for how to register.
Stop monitoring
I want to stop monitoring a URL I registered.
Cause
You can set monitoring status for individual URLs in Manage monitoring and change settings.
Solution
The solution is as follows:
- In the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to
> Services > Management & Governance > Web service Monitoring System. - In the Web Monitoring menu, click the
> Monitoring settings menu for the monitoring item you want to set. - When the Monitoring settings window appears, disable the monitoring ON/OFF item and click [Apply].
- If you want to monitor the URL again later, enable the monitoring ON/OFF item and click [Apply]. Monitoring is performed periodically at set times, and progress can be checked on the Dashboard.
Change service name
I don't know how to change the service name.
Cause
The name set when registering a service cannot be changed.
Solution
The name created when registering a service cannot be changed, so you must register a new service to change the name.
Private IP monitoring
I am getting an error while testing to monitor a server address in a private subnet.
Cause
Private IP addresses of servers in a private subnet cannot be monitored.
Solution
As explained under Cause, this is not an error as private IPs of servers in a private subnet cannot be monitored. Assign a public IP to monitor.
Event filtering
I want to filter out the types of events for which I don't want to receive notifications.
I want to filter out specific error codes.
Cause
The service does not provide the ability to filter out specific error codes. You can only filter event information by navigating to Monitoring settings > Filter settings.
Solution
To filter events so you don't receive notifications:
- In the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to
> Services > Management & Governance > Web service Monitoring System. - In the Web Monitoring menu, click the
> Filter settings menu for the monitoring item you want to set. - When the Filter settings window appears, select the information for events for which you do not want to receive notifications.
