    This part describes how to create/register/manage a KakaoTalk Channel.

    Note

    To use the functions provided in the menu of Biz Message > KakaoTalk Channel, you need to have a project set to use the Biz Message. To create a project, see Create project, and to edit the settings of a created project, see Edit project.

    Create KakaoTalk Channel

    AlimTalk/FriendTalk service is a Biz Message service that is only available for business clients. First, create a KakaoTalk Channel in the KakaoTalk Channel admin center and receive the business certification through the center. In addition, change the settings to Open home for using the service.

    Note
    • The name has been changed from Yellow ID into Plus Friend on May 24, 2017, and has been changed from Plus Friend into KakaoTalk Channel on September 17, 2019.
    • According to the KISA guide on June 22, 2023, as customer center information must now be filled in when registering a new outgoing profile (Channel), you must fill in customer center information before creating and registering a Channel. (Where to enter information: KakaoTalk Channel admin center > Profile > Set home tab card > Basic information)

    Biz Message user authentication

    To register a KakaoTalk Channel and use AlimTalk and FriendTalk, you must submit the same business information as the business information submitted during business authentication for the KakaoTalk Channel admin center for approval.
    Please first proceed with the authentication in the following order.

    1. From the NAVER Cloud Platform console, click the Contact us menu.
    2. Search by selecting SENS for the inquiry type and select Application Services > Simple & Easy Notification Service (SENS) > Biz Message from the results.
    3. Enter "SENS Biz Message approval request" in the Subject field, and write your approval request in the body.
    4. Submit your business registration certificate, employment certificate (copy of ID card with the last 6 digits of the resident registration number masked for individual business owners), and pledge as attached files.
      • Once approval is complete, you can register your KakaoTalk Channel and AlimTalk template.
    Required document/information
    1. Name of Channel to be registered, ID for search
    2. Business registration certificate of the Channel to be registered
      • You must submit the same business information as the business information submitted during business authentication for the KakaoTalk Channel admin center.
    3. Employment certificate
      • You need to submit an employment certificate to prove that you belong to the company.
      • Individual business owners should submit a copy of their ID card with the last 6 digits of their resident registration number masked.
    4. Pledge for using SENS Biz Message (download / login required)
    Note
    • You can register your KakaoTalk Channel and AlimTalk template only after Biz Message authentication has been approved.
    • When submitting a copy of your ID, you must first mask the last digits of your resident registration number.

    Register KakaoTalk Channel

    The following describes how to register a KakaoTalk Channel.

    Note

    Only a KakaoTalk Channel with business certification can be registered.

    1. Click the environment you are using in the Region menu and Platform menu of the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
    2. Click the menus of Services > Application Services > Simple & Easy Notification Service, in that order.
    3. Click the menus of Biz Message > KakaoTalk Channel in order.
    4. Select the project to register a KakaoTalk Channel and click the [Register Channel] button.
    5. When the Register KakaoTalk Channel popup window appears, enter the KakaoTalk Channel information.
      • KakaoTalk Channel: enter the ID for search when creating the KakaoTalk Channel
        • The message is received by the receiver in the name of the registered KakaoTalk Channel.
      • Administrator contact info: enter the contact information of the administrator to receive the authentication number
        • The authentication number is sent as a KakaoTalk message.
      • Business operator category: select the business category of the Channel
    6. Click the [Receive authentication number] button and enter the received authentication number.
    7. Click the [Register] button.
      • The KakaoTalk Channel will be registered and displayed on the list.
    Caution

    If invalid business information is used for KakaoTalk Channel registration, then this will be considered as abuse and it will be deleted without prior notice. If the abuse continues, you may be blocked from using Simple & Easy Notification Service.

    KakaoTalk Channel management

    You can transfer/reactivate/recover/delete/permanently delete the registered KakaoTalk Channel.

    Transfer KakaoTalk Channel

    The following shows how to transfer the KakaoTalk Channel to another project.

    Note
    • You can transfer the KakaoTalk Channel only to a project set for using the Biz Message. If the project for the transfer is not set for using the Biz Message, first set it for using the Biz Message and then transfer. (See Edit project)
    • Basically, you can transfer only within the same account. If you need to transfer a KakaoTalk Channel to another account, then you must register a transfer/acquisition request to the account where the Channel is currently registered and the account to be transferred through Customer Support.
    1. Click the environment you are using in the Region menu and Platform menu of the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
    2. Click the menus of Services > Application Services > Simple & Easy Notification Service, in that order.
    3. Click the menus of Biz Message > KakaoTalk Channel in order.
    4. Select the project with the KakaoTalk Channel to be transferred.
    5. Click the KakaoTalk Channel to be transferred, and click the [Transfer] button.
    6. Select the project to transfer in the Transfer KakaoTalk Channel popup window.
    7. Enter the KakaoTalk Channel name and click the [Transfer] button.
      • The KakaoTalk Channel will be transferred to the selected project.

    Reactivate KakaoTalk Channel

    The following shows how to reactivate a dormant KakaoTalk Channel.

    1. Click the environment you are using in the Region menu and Platform menu of the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
    2. Click the menus of Services > Application Services > Simple & Easy Notification Service, in that order.
    3. Click the menus of Biz Message > KakaoTalk Channel in order.
    4. Select the project with the KakaoTalk Channel to reactivate.
    5. Select the KakaoTalk Channel you want to reactivate and then click the [Reactivate] button.
    6. When the [Reactivate] pop-up window appears, click the [OK] button.
      • The KakaoTalk Channel status will be changed to Normal.
    Note
    • If no history of AlimTalk message delivery or consultation exists for 1 year, then the channel will be switched to Dormant.
    • If 1 year passes in the status of Dormant, the KakaoTalk Channel will be deleted. A deleted channel cannot be recovered.
    • If there is no history of AlimTalk message delivery or consultation for 30 days after reactivating the channel from the Dormant status, it'll become dormant again.

    Enable KakaoTalk Channel Failover

    The following describes how to set Failover in a KakaoTalk Channel.

    1. Click the environment you are using in the Region menu and Platform menu of the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
    2. Click the menus of Services > Application Services > Simple & Easy Notification Service, in that order.
    3. Click the menus of Biz Message > KakaoTalk Channel in order.
    4. Select the project with the KakaoTalk Channel to be set for Failover.
    5. Click the [Set Failover] button of the KakaoTalk Channel to set for Failover.
    6. Select the use option in the Set Failover popup window and select the project and caller ID.
      • You can only select projects set for using SMS.
      • You can only select approved caller IDs.
      • The selected caller ID will be used as the default caller ID for Failover.
      • When the caller ID approval status is changed after setting Failover, the Failover will not work.
    7. Click the [Save] button.
      • The Failover settings are completed.

    Restore KakaoTalk Channel

    The following describes how to restore a deleted KakaoTalk Channel.

    Note

    You cannot restore a Channel deleted after spending 1 year in the Dormant status or a Channel deleted permanently.

    1. Click the environment you are using in the Region menu and Platform menu of the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
    2. Click the menus of Services > Application Services > Simple & Easy Notification Service, in that order.
    3. Click the menus of Biz Message > KakaoTalk Channel in order.
    4. Select the project with the KakaoTalk Channel to be restored.
    5. Select the KakaoTalk Channel you want to restore and then click the [Restore] button.
    6. Enter the KakaoTalk Channel name in the Restore KakaoTalk Channel popup window and click the [Restore] button.
      • The KakaoTalk Channel will be restored and the status will be changed to Normal.

    Delete KakaoTalk Channel

    The following describes how to delete a KakaoTalk Channel.

    Note

    You can restore a deleted KakaoTalk Channel. To delete a KakaoTalk Channel so that it cannot be restored, permanently delete the KakaoTalk Channel.

    1. Click the environment you are using in the Region menu and Platform menu of the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
    2. Click the menus of Services > Application Services > Simple & Easy Notification Service, in that order.
    3. Click the menus of Biz Message > KakaoTalk Channel in order.
    4. Select the project with the KakaoTalk Channel to be deleted.
    5. Select the KakaoTalk Channel to delete and then click the [Delete] button.
    6. Enter the KakaoTalk Channel name in the Delete KakaoTalk Channel popup window, and click the [Delete] button.
      • The KakaoTalk Channel status will be changed to Deleted.

    Permanently delete KakaoTalk Channel

    The following describes how to permanently delete a KakaoTalk Channel.

    Caution
    • You cannot restore permanently deleted KakaoTalk Channels, and other accounts cannot be re-registered in Simple & Easy Notification Service.
    • Contact Customer Support for a transfer to another account.
    Note
    • You can permanently delete only a KakaoTalk Channel which is deleted. If the KakaoTalk Channel to be permanently deleted is not deleted, delete the KakaoTalk Channel first.
    • The inspection process is required for permanent deletion. You cannot cancel the request.
    1. Click the environment you are using in the Region menu and Platform menu of the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
    2. Click the menus of Services > Application Services > Simple & Easy Notification Service, in that order.
    3. Click the menus of Biz Message > KakaoTalk Channel in order.
    4. Click the project with the KakaoTalk Channel to be permanently deleted.
    5. Select the KakaoTalk Channel to permanently delete and then click the [Permanently delete] button.
    6. Enter the phrase in the Permanently delete KakaoTalk Channel popup window and click the [I understand the content and I want to delete the channel] button.
      • The KakaoTalk Channel will be deleted and disappear from the list.
