Mapping Device describes how to apply for renting a mapping device to produce and collect digital twin data and view rental history.

Note
  • Currently, NAVER Cloud Platform console only supports T2B as a rentable mapping device.

Mapping Device Screen

Mapping Device screen is composed of the following:

Field Description
① Menu name Name of the menu currently being viewed
② Basic features The features displayed when you first enter the Mapping Device menu after subscribing.
  • [Rent mapping device] button: Click to Request mapping device rental.
  • [Features and pricing information] button: Click to go to the ARC eye service overview page.
  • [Refresh] button: Refresh Mapping Device page.
③ Post-submission features Features provided after equipment rental request submission.
④ Rental list Equipment rental history list (See Check rental list.)

Check rental list

To check the information of the equipment rental history:

  1. Navigate to i_menu > Services > Digital Twin > ARC eye in the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
  2. Click Mapping Device menu.
  3. Check the summary in the rental list or click an item to check the detailed information.
    • Summary information
      • No: Number assigned to an item by the order of your application for device rental
      • Project name: Project name entered by you when filling in the rental application
      • Rental period: Desired rental date entered by you when filling in the rental application
      • Received date: The date when you actually received an issued device
      • Returned date: The date when the device is returned by you and processed by a manager
      • Rental status: Indicates device rental progress status (see Rental status)
    • Details
      • Project description: Describes the project entered when generating the selected VL project
      • Plan to use the device: Scan plan file, uploaded when filling in the rental application
      • Rental period: The period from the received date to the returned date, basis of billing unit
        • Calculated to 2 days less than the actual rental period, considering the time for delivery
        • Weekends and public holidays are excluded from the billing dates
      • Manager: The name of the manager who entered the rental application at the time of the application
      • Additional cost/reason: Additional cost and reason due to damage or lost

Rental status

Rental status on the console and available features vary by the rental progress. View the rental status and the description by status.

Condition Description
Receipt in progress A status before processing receipt by the NCP manager after you applied for a device rental
Submitted A status when the rent can proceed as NAVER Cloud manager completed the receipt
Proceed with rental A status before issuing the device after you proceeded with the device rental
Cancel rental Device rental canceled
On rent A status when you are using the device after the device issue is completed
Apply for return A status when you applied for the device return after using the device
Return complete Device return completed

Apply for a mapping device rental

To apply for a mapping device rental:

  1. Navigate to i_menu > Services > Digital Twin > ARC eye in the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
  2. Click Mapping Device menu.
  3. Click [Rent mapping device] .
    • When you click [Rent mapping device], a pop-up window will appear requesting your consent for the collection and use of personal information. Check the information, click the checkbox, and click [Agree] .
  4. Once the mapping device rental application screen appears, enter the following information:
    • Project: Select among the created projects in ARC eye > VL.
    • List: VL project list created (or 'None')
    • Scan plan: Drag or select the scan plan file you wish to upload
      • Download scan plan template: Click to download the 'scan_plan_template.pptx' file
    • Rental period: Designate the rental period through the calendar
      • Click is disabled to prevent designating the date rented for another user or already applied for rent
    • Accessories: Rented quantity by each accessory
    • Manager: Enter the name and contact of the person filling in the application
  5. Click [Request] .
    • Click [Request] to create new item in the rental list, and the rental status of the applicable item is indicated as "Receipt in progress".
    • NAVER Cloud Manager reviews the rental application history and approves it by contacting the manager's information on the application. After that, the rental status of the applicable item is updated to 'Receipt complete' in the rental list.

Proceed with a mapping device rental

To proceed with a mapping device rental:

  • You can proceed with a mapping device rental when the rental status is "Receipt complete" .
  • Read the Guide to a Mapping Device Rental as it provides requirements and cautions to take with a mapping device rental and return.
  1. Navigate to i_menu > Services > Digital Twin > ARC eye in the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
  2. Click Mapping Device menu.
  3. Click [Proceed with rent] after selecting the item you want to rent from the rental list.
  4. Once the Guide to mapping device rental appears, view the guide, click the checkbox, and then click [Next] .
  5. Once the device receipt screen appears, enter the time and date you wish to receive the device.
    • You can select the date you wish to receive from 2 days after the rent process date and designate the time you wish to receive within the NAVER business hours. (10:30 AM - 6:00 PM on business days, excluding weekends and public holidays)
  6. Click [Complete] .
    • Click [Compete] to update the rental status to the "Rent in progress" from the rental list.
  7. Visit the NAVER headquarters on the time and date you entered the console to proceed to issue the device.
    • NAVER Labs device manager checks for any abnormality if the device is actually issued. After that, the rental status of the applicable item is updated to 'On rent' in the rental list.

Cancel a mapping device rental

To cancel a mapping device rental:

  • You can proceed with a mapping device rental when the rental status is "Receipt in progress" or "Receipt complete" .
  • When you cancel the rent, you need to apply for a new mapping device rent even if it is for the same project, and the previously designated rental period is not guaranteed.
  1. Navigate to i_menu > Services > Digital Twin > ARC eye in the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
  2. Click Mapping Device menu.
  3. Click [Cancel rent] after selecting the item you want to cancel from the rental list.
    • Click [Cancel rent] to open the reference notes and cancellation reason input pop-up window. View the guide, enter the reason for the cancellation, and then click [OK] .
    • Once the cancel rent of the mapping device is complete, the rental status of the applicable item is updated to "Cancel rent" .

Return the mapping device on rent

If you completed collecting digital twin data using the mapping device, you must apply for the device return at the console.

Caution

Apply for the device return first as additional cost may apply without applying for the device return at the console even after you actually returned the device.

Note
  • You can return the device when the rental status of the selected history is "On rent" .
  • Additional charges may apply if damage or loss is identified while inspecting the returned device. You can check the exact amount of the relevant charge and the reason for the claim from Check rental list > Details > Additional charge/reason .

To apply for a device return:

  1. Navigate to i_menu > Services > Digital Twin > ARC eye in the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
  2. Click Mapping Device menu.
  3. Click [Return device] after selecting the item you want to return the device from the rental list.
  4. Once the mapping device return pop-up window appears, enter the time and date you want to return the device and click [OK] .
    • Click [OK] to update the rental status to "Return requested" from the rental list.
  5. Visit the NAVER headquarters on the time and date you entered the console to return the device.
    • NAVER Labs device manager checks for any abnormality if the device is actually collected. After that, the rental status of the applicable item is updated to 'Return complete' in the rental list.
