ARC eye glossary

Some glossary is crucial in using ARC eye. The terms and their descriptions are as follows:

Potree Viewer

The large capacity point cloud or LIDAR data setting viewer developed at Vienna University of Technology

Visual Localization (VL)

Technology to estimate the current position only with indoor and outdoor images

Visual Object Tracking (VOT)

Technology to recognize the location of an object in a space with the video taken on a mobile device

Simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM)

A method to write a map of the neighbor environment and estimate the locations in the written map at the same time

Device

A means to collect the space data

Localization

The process to sync the coordinate systems of each location into one common coordinate system

ARC eye

A NAVER Cloud Platform service that provides positioning API that enables building indoor and outdoor digital twin and is applicable to AR, robots, and smart buildings

Tagging

A task to remove the unnecessary area in a video taken with the ARC eye Scan app and set the object area to create the object
