Troubleshoot upload and download issues

You may encounter the following issues when you use Archive Storage: View the causes and solutions by problem and take proper action.

Transfer the Archive Storage file to Object Storage

  • I want to transfer the files uploaded on Archive Storage to Object Storage.
  • I want to transfer the data whose lifecycle is set in Object Storage and which is transferred to Archive Storage to Object Storage again.

Cause

A feature to transfer the files uploaded on Archive Storage to Object Storage is not supported.

Solution

Download the file you uploaded on Archive Storage and upload it to Object Storage again.

Upload files

Uploading large-volume files fails.

Cause

There may be various causes depending on task environments.

Solution

  • To upload a file stably, upload the file to Object Storage first and transfer it to Archive Storage using the lifecycle policy.
  • If you have multiple objects to upload, upload the objects after dividing them into buckets or Prefix properly. When you create the lifecycle policy, divide them by Prefix. For more information on the lifecycle policy, see Lifecycle policy.

File download error

  • The file is not downloaded.
  • The size of the downloaded file is different.
  • I downloaded the file divided into Segment Object through large-volume file management (DLO), but the file size is different.

Cause

  • Archive Storage is a storage service for long-term storage of the data accessed infrequently, which operates 2-tier storage. The data is transferred from the primary storage to the secondary storage according to the Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) policy in the storage. When there is a download request, the file can be downloaded after being transferred from the secondary storage to the primary storage. Due to the nature of the service, you can save the data at a low cost, but it takes some time for data access. The issue may have occurred because the task was not completed during the process of transferring the data to the primary storage.
  • For a GET request for old data or large-volume data, an error may occur.

Solution

  • Because it may take some time to transfer the data to the primary storage, try downloading again after a specific time has passed. When the same issue occurs even if you try again after about 1 hour, send the object list to Customer service.

  • Download the manifest file for DLO, not the Segment file, on the NAVER Cloud Platform console. The DLO manifest file must include the X-Object-Manifest header and the value of the header is the location of Segment Object. The "/" value must be set at the end. For more information on DLO, see DLO user guide.

  • If the response code is not a status code of 200 after viewing the response code, request it again after some time has passed. When you need to store the data accessed frequently, it is recommended to use Object Storage.

Download resuming error

When I download files, only overwriting or skipping files is available and resuming a download doesn't work.

Cause

A feature to resume downloads is not provided.

Solution

Because a feature to resume downloads is not provided, you cannot resume downloads. When you download the same file again, delete the previous data and then download the file again.
