Troubleshoot common issues

Available in Classic and VPC

You might run into the following problems when using Archive Storage. Find out causes and possible solutions.

Fee issues

The billed charges are higher than expected.
There seems to be an error in the billing.

Cause

The Archive Storage usage fee is calculated based on data storage volume, API request count, and network transfer fees. Even if the data storage volume has not changed, an increase in the number of API requests (viewing file list, upload, download, and deletion) can result in higher charges than usual. For more information on how to calculate Archive Storage usage fees, see Archive Storage in Pricing planson the portal.

Solution

  • Check if you have performed more API requests than usual (viewing file list, upload, download, and deletion). API charges apply even when you make deletions on the console.
  • For frequently used data, use the Object Storage service. Archive Storage is recommended for archiving and backup purposes to store large amounts of data over the long term.

Changing Archive Storage folder name

The folder name of Archive Storage is not changed.

Cause

You cannot change the folder name of Archive Storage.

Solution

If you need to change the folder name of Archive Storage, create a new folder and transfer the object to the folder.

Error message: "Access was denied to this resource"

When I uploaded a file to a specific bucket, I received the message "Access was denied to this resource."

Cause

This is a user permissions issue. When the sub account conducting the task doesn't have permissions for the corresponding Archive Storage, the issue may occur.

Solution

View whether the corresponding Archive Storage permissions are added to the sub account conducting the task. To add permissions to the sub account, see Manage policy and role.

Viewing access logs

Object Storage has a feature to view the access log to the bucket, but Archive Storage doesn't have a feature to view the access log.

Cause

Archive Storage doesn't provide an access log feature.

Solution

Because Archive Storage doesn't provide an access log feature, you cannot view the access log in Archive Storage.
