    Article Summary

    Available in Classic and VPC

The three main types of casual Live broadcast conducted on smartphones and PCs are live cam, game live, and character live.

    • Live cam: live format of shooting the streamer's appearance or scene through the device's camera or an externally connected camera and utilizing it for Live broadcast
    • Game live: live format of capturing a game running on a device and utilizing it for Live broadcast
    • Character live: live format of capturing characters in action on a device and utilizing them for Live broadcast

The PRISM Live Studio mobile app supports all the Live broadcast types mentioned above. In this section, we explain the Live cam mode that supports the Live cam type and its usage.

    Live cam mode

Launch the B2B PRISM Live Studio mobile app, and then select the [LIVE] button at the bottom of the mode tab to go to the Prepare for Live broadcast screen. A tab to select the Live broadcast mode exists right above the [Ready] button at the bottom of the app screen. The tab consists of [Screen], [Camera], [VTuber] tabs. Select the [Camera] tab to start Live broadcast in Live cam mode.

    Live cam mode only features

Live cam is the most generally used live type among the Live broadcast types. The B2B PRISM Live Studio mobile app provides various features supporting the Live cam mode. The feature can be accessed and used on the Prepare for Live broadcast screen.

    More menu

Click the b2bpls-cameralive_dot_button button located in the top left corner of the Prepare for Live broadcast screen to go to the More menu. Clicking the button displays the More menu area at the top of the app screen, where you can check and use various individual features.

    Flash On/Off

This function enables you to turn the flash on or off on the device where the app is installed. While this function is not frequently used in general Live broadcast, it can be useful for outdoor night Live broadcast.

    Mic On/Off

This function enables you to turn the microphone on or off on the device where the app is installed. When you don't want to the sounds of the streamer and surroundings to be included in the Live broadcast, you can temporarily turn off the microphone.
When playing music and audio through the My Studio menu on the app, the sound of the music and audio output to the device's speaker is captured by the device's microphone and used in Live broadcast. However, if the microphone is turned off, this processing does not take place. Therefore, when the microphone is off, the sound of music and audio is captured internally in the device and mixed into the audio of the Live broadcast. It helps to apply the sound of music and audio more clearly to Live broadcast.

    Camera On/Off

This function enables you to turn the camera on or off on the device where the app is installed. When you don't want to the video captured by the camera to be included in the Live broadcast, you can temporarily use the camera off feature.
When the camera is off, the app screen transitions to a black background with B2B PRISM Live Studio's logo positioned in the center. Viewers see Live broadcast with the same appearance at the same time. Even though the camera is set to off, the device's audio is transmitted normally.

    View screen full/fit

This option enables you to adjust the display format of the video captured through the camera on the preview screen of the app. With this option, you can switch between View screen full mode and View screen fit mode.
The ratio of the video streamed for Live broadcast in the B2B PRISM Live Studio mobile app is divided into 16:9 for horizontal Live broadcasts and 9:16 for vertical broadcasts. However, the aspect ratio of smartphones may differ from 16:9 or 9:16. The arrangement of the camera preview within the camera preview area of the app is categorized in two forms based on the difference in aspect ratios between the actual Live broadcast Streaming video and the smartphone screen.

    • View screen full mode: select to enlarge the actual streamed video to fill the entire device screen. Accordingly, there may be some areas that are actually streamed but not visible on the device screen, located in the upper, lower, or side areas beyond the screen.
    • View screen fit mode: select to reduce the video to fit the entire device screen, allowing the entire area of the actually streamed video to be visible on the device screen. Accordingly, while the entire area actually streamed is visible on the device screen, the unused areas for Streaming may appear as black background at the top, bottom, or sides of the screen.

No matter which mode you select, viewers watch the same video. Therefore, it's an option you can select according to your preference.

    Flip front-facing camera

When the video captured through the camera is forwarded to viewers through Live broadcast Streaming, the video is displayed in a flipped form horizontally. It is also called "mirror mode" because the form is similar to looking in a mirror. Mirror mode is generally familiar to everyone, creating a comfortable viewing experience.
However, if the actual video contains text, the text appears reversed to the viewer in mirror mode, which is a drawback. For Live broadcast conducted for classes, the writing on the board may appear reversed, so mirror mode can be problematic in such type of Live broadcast.
To address this situation, the B2B PRISM Live Studio mobile app provides the [Flip front-facing camera] option. Activating this feature flips the left and right of the camera preview and viewing video in mirror mode, resolving the text reversal issue.

    Save video after streaming

The Save video after streaming feature provides the convenience of automatically saving the Live broadcast to the device after the end of every stream. For more information about this feature, see Special features.

    Use live status indicator

The Use live status indicator feature enables you to receive current Live broadcast Streaming status information. Live broadcast Streaming status includes the current Live broadcast Streaming frame rate, Live broadcast Streaming bitrate, device microphone volume, and remaining device battery level. For more information about this feature, see Special features.

    Focus mode

This function enables you to set the Focus mode of the device's camera. If you launch the B2B PRISM Live Studio mobile app and haven't touched the screen yet, the app is in the Auto focus state. In this state, the camera automatically adjusts the focal point to the optimal level on the preview video coming through the camera lens.

    • If you tap the app screen when Auto focus is set in the Camera Pro menu, the app automatically focuses once and maintains the auto focus state. At this point, a white focus indicator for b2bpls-cameralive_AF(indicating Auto focus mode) appears on the touched location.
    • If you tap the app screen when Manual focus is set in the Camera Pro menu, the app automatically focuses once on the touched area and maintains the manual focus state. At this point, a yellow focus indicator for b2bpls-cameralive_MF(indicating Manual focus mode) appears on the touched location.

B2B PRISM Live Studio's focal point mode supports configuration through a long press gesture. You can easily switch between Auto focus and Manual focus without navigating to the Camera Pro menu using the long press gesture.
After a long press on the screen in Auto focus mode, the focus indicator switches to white with a lock closing animation at the touched point, and the mode is switched to Manual focus mode. Conversely, after a long press on the screen in Manual focus mode, a focus indicator switches to yellow with a lock opening animation, and the mode is switched to Auto focus mode.

    Camera Pro

The camera Pro feature enables you to set detail options for the device's camera. The detail options available through the camera Pro differ between the iOS app and Android app. The iOS app provides exposure, focal point, ISO, and white balance options. The Android app provides exposure and focal point options. For more information about this feature, see Special features.

    Camera chroma key

The Camera Chroma Key feature is a video compositing technique that uses differences in color tones to apply a different image or video to the background of a person in the Live broadcast, which is generally used in movie and drama shooting. For more information about this feature, see Special features.

    Remote control connection

The Remote control connection feature enables you to use the B2B PRISM Live Studio mobile app as a remote control for the B2B PRISM Live Studio PC app and the B2B PRISM Live Studio mobile app. Devices can establish connections and remotely process various commands such as starting and ending Live broadcast, applying and releasing sources, and more through the CONNECT mode of the app. For more information about this feature, see Special features.

    Select camera lens

The b2bpls-live-streaming-screen_lens button located in the top left corner of the app screen is the Select camera lens button.
Smartphones generally have front and rear cameras built into the device. Moreover, recent devices often feature multiple front and rear cameras, each offering unique functions. Dedicated cameras with special functions include wide angle cameras, ultra wide angle cameras, telephoto cameras, and more.
B2B PRISM Live Studio mobile app's Live cam provides the feature to select the camera for the device used for the camera video preview through the Select camera lens button. Clicking that button enables you to switch between the front and rear cameras. If the device has multiple front and rear cameras, a menu to select the desired camera is provided.
However, not all cameras installed on the device are accessible to third party apps like the B2B PRISM Live Studio mobile app. Smartphone manufactures often limit the camera list provided to third party apps for the reason of differentiation of features in the camera apps built in their devices or stability of the device.
For this reason, the app requests the list of cameras available for use from the device and configures the camera selection list based on the camera list responses received from the device.
