Create and manage resource describes how to add and delete resources and how to check the detailed information of resources.
Create resource
Use resources to create a backup server for the Backup service.
Before the creation of resource, check any preliminary task to do.
To create a resource:
- From the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to
> Services > Storage > Backup. - Navigate to Backup > Resource.
- Click the [Create resource] button.
- When the resource creation interface comes up, set up the resource information and click the [Next] button.
- Resource name: Enter a unique name for managing the resource.
- The name should start with an English letter and be between 3-30 characters, consisting of lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens (-).
- Zone: Select the zone where the server for the backup is created.
- Server: Select the server for the backup.
- Those available for the resource creation among servers created in the selected zone are placed in the drop down menu.
- You can find the desired server by entering the server name, when there are plenty of created servers.
- Host name: When selecting a Windows server, enter the host name.
- Enter the real host name. If the name is not identical to the real host name, the backup agent fails to be installed. To check the host name, enter
hostnameon the cmd window. - If you do not enter the host name, the host name is automatically set as same as the server name.

- Agent type: Select the type of the backup agent you want to install.
- You can select several types of agent at the same time, and the selected agents are installed when the resource is created.
- Data: Perform a backup for the data area except for the OS component.
- The installation of the Data agent is mandatory for Windows servers.
- DB: Perform a backup for the DB component installed at the server.
- When you select DB, select the DB agent you want to install.
- When you select Linux server from the server, you cannot install MSSQL agent.
- ID: Enter the server ID to install the agent.
- Enter less than 256 characters by using English letters, numbers, and hyphens (-).
- Install the agent by using the root account on Linux server and the Administrator account on Windows server. When you cannot use root/Administrator accounts, see set up server ID.
- When you install the agent on MSSQL server, enter the account ID with the sysadmin authority that belongs to the administrator group. Use the Windows authentication mode to access MSSQL servers.Note
Navigate to Security > Logins > Properties > Server Roles on SQL Server Management Studio to check whether the account you will use has the sysadmin authority. When the sysadmin check box is unchecked, click the check box and [OK].
- When you install the agent on MySQL servers, enter the ID according to the server OS as follows.
- Linux: Enter the account ID with the OS Admin authority or the root authority.
- Windows: Enter the account ID with the OS Admin authority or the SA authority.
- When you install the agent on PostgreSQL server, enter the postgres account ID with the admin authority.
- Password: Enter the server password to install the agent.
- Enter the password for the ID you entered.
NoteThe server ID and password are only used for the agent installation, and they are not saved for other purposes.
- Resource name: Enter a unique name for managing the resource.
- Click the [Create resource] button after viewing the information you setup.
- The resource status displays Creating on the list, and after the creation the status changes to Created.
- When the resource creation is completed, check whether the agent installation has completed. When the installation is failed, reinstall agent.
- When you install DB agent, add DB instances.
Check detailed resource information
To view the detailed resource information from the resource list:
Only when there are more than 1 resource created, the list of resources appears.
- From the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to
> Services > Storage > Backup. - Navigate to Backup > Resource.
- Click resources you want to check whose detailed information.
- The detailed resource information appears.
- Resource/Resource name (Resource ID): The name of the created resource and the automatically assigned ID when creating the resource.
- Server/Instance ID: The name of the server that created the resource and the automatically assigned ID.
- OS: The OS type of the server that created the resource.
- Status: The current status of the resource.
- Creating: Creating a resource according to the configured information.
- Created: Resource creation according to the configured information has been completed.
- Returning: The resource is being deleted.
- Installing: The agent is being added, newly installed, or reinstalled.
- Reinstalling: The agent is being reinstalled.
- Region: The region where the resource was created.
- Zone: The zone where the resource was created.
- Agent: The agent information installed in the resource.
- Agent status: The status of the agent installation.
- Installing: The agent is being installed.
- Created: The agent has successfully been installed.
- Deleting: The agent is being deleted.
- Installation failure: The agent installation has failed.
- DB instance name: The name of the DB instance added to the DB agent.
- Status: The status of the DB instance installation.
- Creating: The DB instance is being added.
- Created: The DB instance has been successfully added.
- Deleting: The DB instance is being deleted.
- Editing: The DB instance is being edited.
- Creation failure: The DB instance was not added successfully.
- Editing failure: The DB instance information was not edited successfully.
- Action: Displays the DB instance edit and delete buttons.
- Agent status: The status of the agent installation.
Delete resource
To delete a resource:
Deleted resources cannot be recovered. Take careful consideration before deleting resources.
Before deleting resources, delete all the agents installed in those resources.
- From the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to
> Services > Storage > Backup. - Navigate to Backup > Resource.
- After selecting the resource you want to delete from the resource list, click the [Delete resource] button.
- When the Delete resource popup window comes up, click the [OK] button.
- After checking the popup window and checking the check box, click the [Delete] button.
- The resource is in the status of Returning, and after the deletion, it disappears from the list.
