You can create, edit, and delete the policies to be applied to the backup job in the Policy interface.
Policy interface
The Policy interface includes the following components:

Create policy
To backup the data, create a policy at the storage where you want to store the backup data.
To create a policy:
- From the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to Menu > Services > Storage > Backup.
- Click the Policy menu.
- Click [Create policy].
- When the policy creation interface appears, set up the policy information and click [Next].
- Policy name: Enter a unique name for managing the policy.
- The name should start with an English letter and be between 3-30 characters, consisting of lowercase English letters, numbers, and hyphens (-).
- Retention period: Enter the period for storing the backup data.
- You can set the retention period regardless of the backup cycle.
- To not miss any data due to expiration, select a data retention cycle appropriate for the backup cycle.
- Zone: Select the zone where the policy will be created.
- Connecting storage: The name of the storage in the selected zone automatically appears, and the policy is created in the storage.
- Policy name: Enter a unique name for managing the policy.
- After confirming the settings, click [Create].
- The policy status is displayed as Creating on the list, and after creation, the status changes to Created.
Note
Single policy can be only applied to a single job. Create policies for as many jobs as you want to perform.
Edit policy
You can edit the retention period of the policy among the setup information of the policy.
To edit a policy:
- From the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to Menu > Services > Storage > Backup.
- Click the Policy menu.
- After clicking the policy you want to edit from the policy list, click [Edit].
- Edit the retention period, and then click [Edit].
- The policy status is displayed as Editing, and after the editing is complete, it changes to Created.
Delete policy
To delete a policy:

You cannot delete the policy currently in use. See the following and delete the schedule and the remote backup that use the policy first:
- From the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to Menu > Services > Storage > Backup.
- Click the Policy menu.
- Click to select the policy to delete from the policy list, and click [Delete].
- After checking the policy deletion popup, click the check box.
- Click [Delete].
- The policy status is displayed as Deleting, and after the deletion, it disappears from the policy list.
