Revoke certificate

Available in Classic and VPC

You can request revocation of Advanced certificates before expiration. The revocation function can be used to prevent misuse of the certificate and key pair when the certificate is no longer needed.

Revoke certificate

Reissuance is available only for Advanced certificates.

Revocation conditions

The status of the certificate to be revoked must be "Normal" or "Normal - Private key registration required for NCP use."

Revocation reasons

The following four reasons are available for revocation requests directly through Certificate Manager. If revocation is required for other reasons, submit a customer inquiry.

Revocation Reason Description Example
Affiliation Changed Identifying information such as organization name has changed. Organization information or address has changed, making the certificate information inaccurate.
Superseded Replaced or scheduled to be replaced with a new certificate before expiration.
  • A new certificate has been issued due to approaching expiration and the existing certificate needs to be revoked.
  • A certificate is reissued after adding or changing domains.
  • A certificate needs to be replaced with a new key pair.
Cessation of Operation The domain or service has been permanently discontinued or scheduled to be discontinued The certificate is no longer used without replacement.
  • The server (website) is terminated due to service shutdown.
  • TLS communication is no longer performed for the domain.
Unspecified Other reasons. Generally not recommended. Use only if none of the above reasons apply.

Revocation

To revoke a certificate:

  1. From the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to Menu > Services > Security > Certificate Manager > Certificate List, then click the Advanced certificate tab.
  2. Select an order and a certificate you want to revoke in the certificate list.
  3. After selection, click Certificate Management > Revocation. When the Revoke certificate interface appears, proceed with the following steps in order:

1. Enter certificate name

Enter the certificate name. This is a required field, and the selected certificate name is displayed in the revocation window.

2. Select revocation reason

Select the reason for revocation. This is a required field. For details on each reason, see the Revocation reasons section.

3. Click Revocation

Click Revocation to submit the request.

Caution

If processed successfully, the certificate is revoked immediately upon request. A revoked certificate is no longer trusted and cannot be recovered.
