There are a few terms you need to know to use Cloud DB for MSSQL. The terms and their descriptions are as follows.
Backup
A feature in Cloud DB for MSSQL that enables identification of backup information configured per server for safe storage of users' database data in use, as well as execution of recovery from backup files.
DB service
Group name that classifies MSSQL servers by their role.
Event
A feature in Cloud DB for MSSQL that enables identification of event history by collecting events that occurred in MSSQL servers.
Mirror
A standby server that can be newly switched to the master in case of a failover when using the high availability feature.
Monitoring
A feature in Cloud DB for MSSQL that enables identification of monitoring information regarding server performance, operating system, and query execution related to MSSQL servers in operation.
MSSQL Server
A DB server serviced on cloud environment upon installation of MSSQL with optimized settings that have been verified for a long time by NAVER services.
Principal
The main server when using the high availability feature.
Role
It refers to MSSQL server's role, there are four types: standalone, principal, mirror, and slave.
Slave
A readable server that can be added for read load balancing when using the high availability feature.
Stand Alone
The main server when not using the high availability feature.
