In Event, you can check the history of events that occurred in the Cloud DB for PostgreSQL server. The events that occur in PostgreSQL are saved automatically in the history and stored permanently without requiring additional settings by the user.
Event page
The basics of using the event are as follows.
Area | Description |
---|---|
① Menu name | Name of the menu currently being viewed |
② Basic features | Check details for Cloud DB for PostgreSQL, refresh the Event page |
③ Set event rules | Go to NAVER Cloud Platform's Cloud Insight, a service product specialized for monitoring, and set event rules and notifications |
④ Event list | Check saved event history, search desired event history with event occurrence period and service name from the event list |
Check events
The following describes how to check the events that occurred in PostgreSQL.
- From the NAVER Cloud Platform console, click the Services > Database > Cloud DB for PostgreSQL menus, in that order.
- Click the Event menu.
- When the event list appears, check the required information.
- DB server name: name of the PostgreSQL Server where the event occurred
- Event occurrence time: time when the event occurred
- Event type: type of the event that occurred
- Event name: name of the event that occurred
- DB: events that occurred in DB
- Failover: events that occurred upon failover
- Backup: events that occurred during backup
- Content: description of the event that occurred
- Created DB Server: PostgreSQL Server created
- Deleted DB Server: PostgreSQL Server deleted
- Backing up database: backup started
- Finished Database Backup: backup completed
- Deleted Database Backup: backup deleted
- Exported backup: backup sent to Object Storage
- Performed Failover Manually - Demoted: the primary server was demoted during a manual failover
- Performed Failover Manually - Promoted: the secondary server was promoted during a manual failover
- Failover occurs automatically - Demoted: the primary server was automatically demoted
- Failover occurs automatically - Promoted: the secondary server was automatically promoted
- Changed Database Storage Size: storage size changed
- Created Database: database created
- Dropped Database: database deleted
- Created User: user created
- Altered User: user settings changed
- Dropped User: user deleted
- Changed Server Spec: server specifications changed
- Started DB Server: DB server started
- Stopped DB Server: DB server stopped
- Restarted DB Server: DB server restarted
- Added Read Replica DB Server: read replica added
- Changed Configuration: config value changed
- Recovered DB Server: DB server recovered
- Deleted PostgreSQL Log: log file deleted
- Exported PostgreSQL Log: log file uploaded to Object Storage
- Access IP: access IP address of the admin account where the event occurred
- If the event type is DB server, then click it to see the details.
- DB service name: service name of the PostgreSQL Server
- DB status: status of the PostgreSQL Server in operation
- DB role: role of the PostgreSQL Server in operation
- Creation date: date that PostgreSQL Server in operation was created
- DB engine version: DB engine version
Set event rules
If you use Cloud Insight, NAVER Cloud Platform's service product specialized for monitoring, then you can set more detailed event rules for PostgreSQL Servers and monitor them. The events collected by the rules set by the user can be checked from the Cloud Insight dashboard.

Notification settings
By using Cloud Insight, NAVER Cloud Platform's service product specialized for monitoring, you can set thresholds for specific rules and set email and SMS notifications to predetermined users when the thresholds are exceeded if you have set event rules for PostgreSQL Servers.
