Available in VPC

The analyst can freely view and analyze the target data provided by the Box administrator, but needs the authorization from the Box administrator to export the data after an adequacy examination. When exporting files NAVER Cloud Platform Object Storage is used so subscribe for Object Storage and create a bucket, and proceed with the export request of the target file in the bucket.

Note

Object Storage service pricing information is charged separately. For more details on Object Storage pricing information, see the Object Storage page.

Caution

Check the cautions when using Connect Server NAS when exporting files.

Request export

Box blocks the communication from the external network, and through the file export feature the necessary files can be exported outside of the Box. As exporting source data is prohibited, a file can only be exported after being approved by the export review process. To request for file export, follow these steps:

  1. In the VPC environment on the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to i_menu > Services > Big Data & Analytics > Data Box Frame > Export.
  2. Check the Data Box Frame of the file to be exported.
  3. Click Request export.

  4. Click OK after entering the related information on the request export page.
    databoxframe-dataout_out-2_ko
    • Data box name: Box storing the file to be exported.
    • Export applicant SSL VPN ID: SSL VPN ID of the export applicant.
    • Source NAS: NAS storing the file to be exported.
    • Source file: Name of the file to be exported.
    • File description: Exported file description.
    • Export purpose: Description of the export purpose.
    • Target bucket: Name of the bucket to store files after export review.
    • Memo: Add a memo (maximum of 50 characters).
  5. Check if the request export has been progressed properly.

After the request for export, the request for export can be canceled before proceeding with the export review. To cancel request for export, follow these steps:

  1. In the VPC environment on the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to i_menu > Services > Big Data & Analytics > Data Box Frame > Export.
  2. Check the Data Box Frame of the export to be canceled.
  3. Click the request to be canceled.

  4. Click Cancel request export.
    databoxframe-dataout_out-4_ko
  5. Click OK after checking the canceled request.

View review status

After requesting file export, the Data Box Frame administrator reviews the export feasibility. You can check the review status by viewing review status. If the review is rejected, the reason for rejection can be checked. To view the review status, follow these steps:

  1. In the VPC environment on the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to i_menu > Services > Big Data & Analytics > Data Box Frame > Export.
  2. Check the Data Box Frame export in progress.
  3. Check the review status. The review status value is as follows:
    databoxframe-dataout_out-6_ko
    • Request review (before file transfer)
    • Request review (complete file transfer)
    • Authorization (complete bucket storage)
    • Rejected

Check export

When the request for file export is authorized, the file can be checked in the Bucket of the selected Object Storage. To check export, follow these steps:

  1. In the VPC environment on the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to i_menu > Services > Storage > Object Storage.
  2. Click the selected bucket when exporting.
  3. Check the exported file.

Data export guidelines

Data Box Frame is a tool to derive a complete analysis output from the Box, so avoid exporting intermediate output for additional analysis from outside the Box. While we have set a size limit on files for export to that end, allowances on exportability can be made for special cases after a consultation.

  • Exportable formats: Analysis output in the forms of table, model, code, or image
    • Description for exported data required
    • Common: Description of the objective and the result of the analysis (Form to fill out provided)
    • Table: Number of rows and columns, and description of each column and extraction process
    • Model: Output code and description
    • Source code: Description of the code purpose and simple annotations in the code
    • Image: Creation code and description

All of the following conditions must be satisfied for the file to be exported, and file export is impossible if one of the condition is not satisfied.

  • Source data or partial source data
  • User unit data
  • Zip file
