Supported databases
Database Migration Service supports MySQL and MariaDB database migration.
- It is recommended to migrate between databases with the same major version.
- For Cloud DB for MySQL, up to 6 TB can be used for Block Storage.
- For normal use, the total data capacity, including backup files created during migration, must not exceed 6 TB.
The following describes Whether migration is supported depending on the detailed settings of source DB:
- Database, TABLE's character set: euckr, utf8 and utf8mb4 supported
- mysqldump backup method: table, view, stored procedure, function and trigger migration supported
- mydumper backup method: table, stored procedure, function and trigger migration supported
- TABLE ENGINE: MyISAM, BLACKHOLE, FEDERATED, ARCHIVE and MEMORY are not supported.
- User account information, MySQL config items and event migration are not supported
No action is to be taken for the following problems encountered during Database Migration Service operations:
- System failures stemming from the customer input errors (such as requests for access to non-existent files), violations of precautionary measures specified by the company in the terms of service or user guides, or service utilization exceeding usage limits (for example: overloading database instances beyond operational capacity, or creating excessive tables that substantially increase migration time).
- Prolonged migration periods due to source DB size limitations.
- Database system conflicts, operational disruptions, or completely non-functional database instances that originate from external database engine software components that constitutes this service.
Pricing information
Database Migration Service is a free service that does not incur additional charges. However, the following costs may be incurred depending your service usage:
- Fees based on the storage usage of target DB Server.
- Fees based on the network usage if source DB is a database within NAVER Cloud Platform.
