    Article Summary

    Available in VPC.

You can easily and conveniently migrate your databases in NAVER Cloud Platform’s Database Migration Service. You can learn more about how to use it from Getting started with Database Migration Service and Using Database Migration Service, but first take a look at the full scenarios for using Database Migration Service. If you learn the usage scenarios before reading the guides, you can use the service more smoothly. The overall steps of using Database Migration Service and descriptions of each step are as follows:
    1. Set usage permissions
    2. Set source DB and target DB connection
    3. Create and manage source DB endpoint
    4. Create and run migration task
    5. Check migration task
    6. Complet migration task

    1. Set usage permissions

Set permissions for using Database Migration Service. Database Migration Service permissions are defined by mapping roles to sub accounts issued by Sub Account in NAVER Cloud Platform. Thus, you need to first create sub accounts besides your main account through Sub Account.

    Note

Sub Account is a service provided free of charge upon subscription request. For an introduction on Sub Account and details about its pricing plans, refer to the Services > Management & governance > Sub Account menu in the NAVER Cloud Platform portal.

You can use sub accounts provided by Sub Account to configure admin permissions and user permissions of Database Migration Service. You can refer to the following user guide:

    2. Set source DB and target DB connection

Set a connection between your source DB and target DB for database migration. Create a target DB in NAVER Cloud Platform, and set the connection information of the source DB and target DB. You can refer to the following user guide:

    3. Create and manage source DB endpoint

Create a source DB endpoint. You can edit endpoint information when necessary. You can refer to the following user guide:

    4. Create and run migration task

Create a migration task. During creation, run a connection test between the source DB and the target DB. Migration is performed upon creation, and the three stages of migration (backup, recovery, and data synchronization) proceed automatically. You can refer to the following user guide:

    5. Check migration task

You can check the progress of your migration task. When necessary, you can restart or stop the migration task in progress. You can refer to the following user guide:

    6. Complete migration task

Complete a migration task. Terminate the synchronization of data between the source DB and the target DB, and change the target DB status to operable. When necessary, you can delete the migration task and endpoint information. You can refer to the following user guide:
