Familiarize yourself with these key terms to get the most out of Global Edge.

Global Edge

NAVER Cloud Platform's CDN service that delivers content reliably and quickly across the globe through a large-scale global network.

Forward Host Header

A header that Global Edge forwards to the origin server. This header is called the Forward Host Header because it forwards the hostname to the origin server through the HTTP request header.

Caching

By default, the settings apply to all objects within the property configuration. For example, caching settings enable the edge server to cache content and remove least recently used (LRU) objects to make room for new ones.

Bypass

Delivers the original content directly without storing it on the cache server.

Maxage

Caches content on Global Edge platform servers for the duration specified in the Maxage field. Once caching is complete, the edge server calculates the remaining Time to Live (TTL) of the object in the cache.

Ignore query string

Controls whether to use the query string (or part of it) to distinguish objects in the cache.

HIT

A state in which the Global Edge cache server has the requested content cached and serves it directly to the user.
