Create Short Clip

This section explains how to create a Short Clip.

Note
  • To create a Short Clip, you must set the Time Machine settings to Enable in the recording options when creating a channel.
  • You can create a Short Clip only when the channel is streaming live.
  • You can create a Short Clip at a desired point of time through the Time Machine (useDVR==true) settings configured on the channel.
  • You can create a Short Clip of 100 ms to 4 hours in length through created snapshots.
  • Short Clip is supported for both HLS and LL-HLS.

Create Short Clip

To create a Short Clip in Live Station on NAVER Cloud Platform:

  1. Start streaming the channel where you want to create a Short Clip.
    • The channel must have the Time Machine feature enabled.
  2. Click [Start recording] on the streaming channel.
  3. In the Time Machine section at the bottom of the channel detail page, click [Create Short Clip].
  4. When the Create Short Clip window appears, enter a name, select the storage location, and add the clip.
    • The Short Clip is temporarily saved.
  5. Click [Save].
    • The selected Short Clip is saved to Object Storage.

The following describes the Create Short Clip window:

Number Item Description
Select type Select from 5 templates (vertical, scene capture, split top and bottom, square, horizontal).
Edit area An area where you apply the selected type and time range from the live stream to create the Short Clip.
Preview An area where you can preview the edited Short Clip.
Name of Short Clip Automatically generated Short Clip title. It can be edited.
Save location List of Object Storage buckets owned by the user.
List of temporarily saved Short Clips. Click [Add] at the top of the page to access the list of temporarily saved Short Clips.
Caution
  • Short Clips can only be created when the channel status is "READY" or "PUBLISHING."
  • Short Clip end time (endTime) - Short Clip start time (startTime) cannot exceed snapshot playback time.
  • The minimum end time for a Short Clip is 100 ms.
