    DRM license

    FairPlay

    A DRM technology protocol provided by Apple. It encrypts each HLS segment with the Sample-AES method.

    PlayReady

    A DRM technology protocol provided by Microsoft. It is encrypted with the AES-128 method according to the common encryption specifications.

    Widevine

    A DRM technology protocol provided by Google. It is encrypted with the AES-128 method according to the common encryption specifications.

    Digital Rights Management (DRM)

    Access control technology used by copyright or publishing right holders as a type of data protection technology to limit the illegal and unauthorized use of digital media
