NAT Gateway glossary

Available in Classic.

You must become familiar with a few terms to use NAT Gateway. The terminologies and their descriptions are as follows.

Peer Host

Alias ​for external host with public IP address to access through Peer Host NAT Gateway

Peer IP

The public IP address of customer's external network’s IPsec VPN Gateway

NAT (Network Address Translation)

Mechanism for reducing the necessity of globally unique IP addresses. Also referred to as the Network Address translator, it allows organizations without globally unique addresses to convert the addresses into those that can routed globally and connect to the Internet.

NAT Gateway (Network Address Translation Gateway)

A NAVER Cloud Platform service that provides a device that connects multiple servers with private IPs to the customer's host with public IPs on the internet

Network Address Translator

Device that provides Internet connection by converting private IPs into public IPs. Often referred to as Network Address Translation.
