This page lists problems you might run into when using Search Engine Service. Click on the error to see more details.

Troubleshoot Cluster issues

The following are examples of cluster errors you might encounter:

Cluster status - Warning
The cluster status shows Warning.

Change manager node redundancy settings
You want to change redundancy settings while the manager node is running.
After creating a manager node, you cannot separate data nodes and master nodes while in operation.

Cannot create a new cluster with G1 first‑generation servers in Classic
You cannot create a new cluster with G1 first‑generation servers in the Classic environment.

Backup and log issues

The following are examples of backup and log errors you might encounter:

Snapshot creation failed
Snapshot creation failed.

Log transfer failed
Logs cannot be sent for a specific time.

Compliance settings not applied
You changed Compliance settings in OpenSearch Dashboards, but they were not recorded in logs and were not applied.

Troubleshoot access issues

The following are examples of access errors you might encounter:

SSH connection failed
SSH fails and a connection timeout occurs.

Cannot access Kibana on port 80 when using SSL VPN on Windows
When you access Kibana with SSL VPN on Windows, port 80 is unavailable.

Troubleshoot "No server is available to handle this request" error message
When testing through the ALB, the message "No server is available to handle this request" appears.

Troubleshoot visualization tool and add‑on issues

The following are examples of visualization tools and add‑ons errors you might encounter:

TSVB visualization not visible in Kibana
TSVB‑type visualizations are not visible in Kibana.

Stack Monitoring not supported
You installed Elasticsearch OSS 7.7.0, but the Stack Monitoring feature is not visible.

X‑Pack not supported in Elasticsearch
Elasticsearch provided by Search Engine Service does not include X‑Pack.
