Available in VPC

Upon creating a My Style, you will be automatically redirected to the styling editor screen. Within the editor, you can freely style the components that comprise My Style and publish a My Style ID. You can also save custom styling data to continuously update your map content that reflects your unique identity.

My Style Editor screen

The My Style Editor screen consists of the following areas:

Component styling

In the left menu bar of the editor screen, there is a menu that allows you to custom style the components, which are elements of the map's content. We recommended you to familiarize yourself with the classification of components before proceeding with styling.

  • The styling options available are as follows:

    Available features Description
    Color Sets the main color for the component's design elements and text elements, as well as the border color (halo color)
    Text Specifies the font used to represent the component
    Others Select size, transparency, and toggle visibility ON/OFF
  • Components are categorized as follows.

    • Feature: 10 main category items (symbol, boundary, facility, building, road, water system, complex, greenery, contour, land)
    • Mediator: detailed sub-items for customization, with varying styling options for each element (◯-customizable, △-partially customizable, X-not customizable)

Quick styling

The quick styling menu is composed as follows:

Setting colors in quick styling

To customize color styling in the quick styling menu, follow these steps:

  1. On the editor screen, click the app_maps_hambarger_button_se01.png menu then select [Color] from the available styling options for the feature.
  2. If needed, choose the display mode for the mediators (list view/short view).
  3. Click on the desired item in the mediator list.
  4. A palette window displaying the colors shown in the thumbnail will appear.
  5. Within the palette window, select the target and then choose a color.
    • Mediator name: the main color for the target mediator's text and design elements
    • Mediator name (halo): the border color for the target mediator
  6. The color of the mediator displayed in the workspace will change.

Setting text in quick styling

To customize text styling in the quick styling menu, follow these steps:

  1. On the editor screen, click the app_maps_hambarger_button_se01.png menu then select [Text] from the available styling options for the feature.
  2. Click on the desired target in the mediator list.
  3. Set the font type, font size, and icon size for the mediator.
    • The adjustable parameters vary depending on the mediator item.
  4. The text and icon size of the mediator in the workspace update accordingly.

Setting other options in quick styling

To customize other styling options in the quick styling menu, follow these steps:

  1. On the editor screen, click the app_maps_hambarger_button_se01.png menu then select [Others] from the available styling options for the feature.
  2. In the mediator list, set the visibility for the target as desired.
  3. The mediator in the workspace will toggle between visible and hidden.
Note

Clicking on a component in the editor screen will display the Map picking quick menu.

Color styling

To customize color styling in the color styling menu, follow these steps:

  1. On the editor screen, click the app_maps_hambarger_button_se02.png menu and then search for the styling target.
    • <Example>: when searching for apartment, features that include the keyword and each of their mediators are displayed.
  2. Click on the desired item from the mediator list under the feature.
  3. A palette window displaying the colors shown in the thumbnail will appear.
  4. Within the palette window, select the target and then choose a color.
    • Mediator name: the main color for the target mediator's text and design elements
    • Mediator name (halo): the border color for the target mediator
  5. The color of the mediator displayed in the workspace will change.

Text styling

To customize text styling in the text styling menu, follow these steps:

  1. On the editor screen, click the app_maps_hambarger_button_se03.png menu and then search for the styling target.
    • <Example>: when searching for subway, each mediator containing the keyword is displayed.
  2. Click on the desired target in the mediator list.
  3. Set the font type, font size, and icon size for the mediator.
    • The adjustable parameters vary depending on the mediator item.
  4. The text and icon size of the mediator in the workspace update accordingly.

Icon Editor

The Icon Editor menu consists of the following parts:

Area Description
① Layout Select the display method for the Maps icon list
  • List view: display icon IDs
  • Large icons: display Maps icons in a larger format
  • Small icons: display Maps icons in a smaller format
② Maps icons The default registered Maps icons list
  • Supports only SVG files
  • Image size must be 80x80 px or smaller
  • Up to 200 icons can be registered
③ My Library List of Maps icons you have registered directly
  • Up to 50 icons can be uploaded at a time
④ Guide and preview Area displaying the icon editing guide and preview of states
⑤ Control Cancel / Apply to map temporarily button
⑥ Window actions Button to enlarge/shrink the Icon Editor window

Replacing icons in the Icon Editor

To change an existing icon to a custom icon in the Icon Editor menu, follow these steps:

  1. On the editor screen, click the app_maps_hambarger_button_se04.png menu.
  2. Select the icon you wish to change from the Maps icons in the Icon Editor.
  3. Choose the new custom icon to apply from My Library.
  4. Confirm the changes in the icon change status area.
    • Initialize: revert to the original icon state
    • Preview: preview the state of the changed icon
    • Change: temporarily save the icon changes to be reflected on the map
  5. Click the [Temporarily apply to map] button.
  6. The Maps icon displayed in the workspace will change.
    • Up to 50 Maps icons can be changed
Note

Data uploaded to My Library via the Icon Editor is saved on an account basis and can be used across different My Styles within the same account.

Caution

Icons are edited by icon ID, meaning individual POIs cannot be changed separately. All icons referencing the same icon ID are updated collectively.

Styling history

The styling history window consists of the following parts:

① Undo Clicking the app_maps_hambarger_button_seht02.png button: returns to the initial state of the editing history
② History List of editing steps
  • POI (Point of Interest): refers to a specific area
③ Navigation Clicking the arrows: moves up or down through the history
④ Window actions Adjust the height of the styling history window
Caution

Changes made in the Icon Editor are not recorded in the styling history.

Map picking quick menu

The map picking quick menu window consists of the following parts:

① Feature Select the feature of the component picked on the map
② Display mode Choose the display mode for color thumbnails (list view/short view)
③ Color Clicking the mediator name will display the color palette
④ Text Clicking the mediator name will display the text editing window
⑤ Others Toggle visibility options

Feature and mediator

A feature is a higher level concept that groups together the text, icon, and graphical source of a component, whereas a mediator breaks down the feature into detailed, editable elements. In the workspace, after selecting a component, use the map picking quick menu to check the feature of that component and then choose the necessary mediator to proceed with your styling work.

Location control

In the location control area, you can perform the following actions:

  • app_MyStyle01_search_button01_01.pngClicking the button: enter any road name or lot number in the search bar to navigate to that location
  • app_MyStyle01_zoom_button01_01.pngClicking the button: zooms in or out of the map

Style control

In the style control area, you can perform the following tasks:

Saving your styling work

After styling, clicking the [Save] button will save your work and update the display of the last saved time point.

Publishing your custom map

Clicking the [Publish] button will, for the first publication, publish a My Style ID and update the display of the publication time point.

Caution

The edited styling data is saved separately for each My Style and cannot be shared with other My Styles. When a My Style is deleted, the custom data created within that style is permanently deleted, excluding any data uploaded to your My Library, and cannot be recovered.
