Integrating Facebook

Available in Classic and VPC

The following tasks need be performed before setting up integration with Facebook.

• Create API Gateway Invoke URL
• Create a Facebook page
• Create a Facebook for developers account
• Create a Facebook App

Create a Facebook page

Log in to Facebook and create a Facebook page on Create a page.

1. Select the category of the Facebook page (business or brand/community or public) and click the [Start button].
2. Enter the page name and category, and then click the [Next] button.
3. Upload a profile and cover picture.
   • The Facebook page is created.

Create a Facebook for developers account

The following describes how to create a Facebook for developers account is as follows.

1. Access Facebook for Developers and create a Facebook for developers account.
   • If you have a Facebook for developers account, go to Create a Facebook App
2. Enter the name of the app, contact number, and email, and click the [Next] button.
3. Proceed with the security check, and then click the [Submit] button.
4. Select an additional option (role).

Integrating Facebook

You can integrate Facebook as follows.

1. From the Facebook Developer dashboard, click [Create an app] from the [My apps] menu at the top of the screen.
2. After selecting the app type, click the [Next] button.
3. Enter the app name, and click the [Create app] button.
4. On the Dashboard screen, click the [Settings] button on your Messenger card.

5. Click the [Create a new page] button to create a new page to connect with the chatbot.
6. Click the [Add or delete page] button to connect the page you created in step 5.

7. Click the [Create token] button to copy the issued token and an app ID.
   

8. Enter the app ID value copied from the chatbot integration messenger page into App ID, and enter the page access token value into Access Token (see Facebook integration settings in chatbot builder)
9. Create and copy the Step 3 Verify Token in the chatbot integration messenger page, and click the [Integrate] button.
10. On the messenger settings page, click the [Add Callback URL] button.

11. When the ‘Edit Callback URL’ page appears, enter the Callback URL and verification token.

• Callback URL: Copy the invoke URL created in API Gateway and paste it
• Confirmation token: From the chatbot builder, click Chatbot Settings > Integrate messenger > [Integrate] button on Facebook, and then click the [Create] button in Step 3 Verify token to create a confirmation token

12. Click the [Add subscription] button, select the messages and messaging_postbacks subscription fields, and click the [Save] button.

The following describes how to set up integration with Facebook in the chatbot builder.

1. Complete the preliminary preparation.
   • Integrating with API Gateway
2. From the NAVER Cloud Platform console, click the Services > CLOVA Chatbot > Domain menus, in that order
3. Click the [Run builder] button of the domain you want to run the chatbot builder.
4. From the chatbot Builder, click Chatbot Settings > [Messenger Integration] button.
5. Enable Facebook, and then click the [Integrate] button.
6. Enter the app ID and channel access token in the Step 1 field of Messenger integration settings.
7. From the Step 3 field of Messenger integration settings, click the [Create] button under Verify token.
8. Click the [Integrate] button.
