Available in Classic and VPC
It describes how to create and manage Target Groups and Rule Templates in Template.
You can efficiently manage monitoring targets and items by grouping them via Target Groups and Rule Templates.
To access the Template menu, access NAVER Cloud Platform portal and navigate to [Console] >
> Services > Management & Governance > Cloud Insight > Configuration > Template menu in order.
Template interface
Template interface is laid out as follows:

Create Target Group
To create Target Group, follow these steps:
- In the NAVER Cloud Platform console, click
> Services > Management & Governance > Cloud Insight menu in order. - Click Configuration > Template menu in order.
- Click the [Create Target Group] button.
- Enter the information in group creation pop-up.
- Select the service for creating Target Group.
- Enter a group name and description.
- In Selectable monitoring target, click to select the monitoring targets you want to include in the group, and then click
.
- You can search for and view monitoring targets.
- To remove a selected monitoring list, in Selected monitoring lists, click to select the monitoring list you want to remove, and then click
.
- Click the [Create] button.
Edit Target Group
When you edit the monitoring list for Target Group, it is also reflected in the Event Rule that the group is set to.
To edit Target Group, follow these steps:
- In the NAVER Cloud Platform console, click
> Services > Management & Governance > Cloud Insight menu in order. - Click Configuration > Template menu in order.
- In the Target Group list, select the target group you want to edit and click the [Edit] button.
- In the Edit Group pop-up, make any changes you want to make and click the [Save] button.

Delete Target Group
When you delete Target Group, the monitoring rule (Event Rule) that the group is set to is also deleted.
To delete Target Group, follow these steps:
- In the NAVER Cloud Platform console, click
> Services > Management & Governance > Cloud Insight menu in order. - Click Configuration > Template menu in order.
- Select the Target Group to delete from the Target Group list, and then click the [Delete] button.
- Check the contents of the delete popup and click the [OK] button.
Create Rule Template
By creating Rule Templates, you can easily create Event Rules without having to configure each metric individually.
To create Rule Template, follow these steps:
- In the NAVER Cloud Platform console, click
> Services > Management & Governance > Cloud Insight menu in order. - Click Configuration > Template menu in order.
- Click the [Rule Template] tab.
- Click the [Create Rule Template] button.
- When the Create template pop-up appears, follow these steps in sequence
1. Select a metric item

- Select the service for which you want to create a template.
- The metrics available for monitoring in that service are displayed.
- Enter a template name and description.
- Click to select the Metric you want to include in the template.
- You can search by entering the Metric ID.
- Click the [Next] button.
2. Set and verify conditions
After setting the conditions for each metric, click the [Save] button.

- The description for each metric is as follows.
- Dimension: Dimensions being collected for the monitoring target
- Level: Level when Event occurs
- Condition: Condition when an event occurs
- Method: The aggregation function for the metric
- Duration: The duration of the metric
- You can select a Dimension by Metric, and the Dimension drop-down menu displays the Dimension that is currently being collected.
- You can select Enter manually to enter the dimensions that are not currently collected but will be collected in the future in the form of key.value.
- To add the same metric, click
. - To delete the added condition, click
. - Example: Metric: SERVER/is_on, Level: CRITICAL, Condition:=0, Method: AVG, Duration: 1 min.
A CRITICAL level event occurs when the AVG value of is_on of the SERVER is zero and lasts for more than one minute.
Edit Rule Template
When you edit Rule Template, it is also reflected in the Monitoring Rule (Event Rule) that it is set to.
To edit Rule Template, follow these steps:
- In the NAVER Cloud Platform console, click
> Services > Management & Governance > Cloud Insight menu in order. - Click Configuration > Template menu in order.
- Click the [Rule Template] tab.
- In the Rule Template list, select the Rule Template you want to edit and click the [Edit] button.
- In the Select metric item step of the Edit Template pop-up, make any changes you want to make and then click the [Next] button.
- After applying the changes you made in the set and confirm step, click the [Save] button.
- If you have Event Rules that are affected by the template edit, a notification pop-up appears. In the notification pop-up, check the affected Event Rules and click the [Save] button.
Delete Rule Template
When you delete Rule Template, the monitoring rules (Event Rules) that it is set to are also deleted.
To delete Rule Template, follow these steps:
- In the NAVER Cloud Platform console, click
> Services > Management & Governance > Cloud Insight menu in order. - Click Configuration > Template menu in order.
- Click the [Rule Template] tab.
- Select the Rule Template to delete from Rule Template list, and then click the [Delete] button.
- Check the contents of the notification popup and click the [OK] button.
