You can create and manage Target Groups and Rule Templates in Template.
You can efficiently manage monitoring targets and items by grouping them via Target Groups and Rule Templates.
To access Template, access the NAVER Cloud Platform portal and navigate to [Console] > Menu > Services > Management & Governance > Cloud Insight > Configuration > Template.
Template interface
The Template interface includes the following components:

Create Target Group
To create a Target Group:
- In the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to Menu > Services > Management & Governance > Cloud Insight.
- Navigate to Configuration > Template.
- Click [Create Target Group].
- Enter the information in the group creation popup.
- Select the service for creating the Target Group.
- Enter a group name and description.
- In Selectable monitoring target, click to select the monitoring targets you want to include in the group, and then click
.
- You can search for and view monitoring targets.
- To remove a selected monitoring target, in Selected monitoring targets, click to select the monitoring target you want to remove, and then click
.
- Click [Create].
Edit Target Group
When you edit the monitoring target for a Target Group, it is also reflected in the Event Rule that the group is set to.
To edit a Target Group:
- In the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to Menu > Services > Management & Governance > Cloud Insight.
- Navigate to Configuration > Template.
- In the Target Group list, select the target group you want to edit and click [Edit].
- In the Edit Group popup, make any changes you want to make and click [Save].

Delete Target Group
When you delete a Target Group, the monitoring rule (Event Rule) that the group is set to is also deleted.
To delete a Target Group:
- In the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to Menu > Services > Management & Governance > Cloud Insight.
- Navigate to Configuration > Template.
- Select the Target Group from the Target Group list, and then click [Delete].
- Check the contents of the delete popup and click [OK].
Create Rule Template
By creating Rule Templates, you can easily create Event Rules without having to configure each metric individually.
To create a Rule Template:
- In the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to Menu > Services > Management & Governance > Cloud Insight.
- Navigate to Configuration > Template.
- Click [Rule Template].
- Click [Create Rule Template].
- When the Create template popup appears, proceed with the next steps in order:
1. Select a metric item

- Select the service for which you want to create a template.
- The metrics available for monitoring in that service are displayed.
- Enter a template name and description.
- Click to select the Metric you want to include in the template.
- You can search by entering the Metric ID.
- Click [Next].
2. Set and verify conditions
After setting the conditions for each metric, click [Save].

- Here is the description for each metric:
- Dimension: Dimensions being collected for the monitoring target.
- Level: Level when an Event occurs.
- Condition: Condition when an Event occurs.
- Method: Aggregation function for the Metric.
- Duration: The duration of the Metric.
- You can select a Dimension by Metric, and the Dimension drop-down menu displays the Dimension that is currently being collected.
- You can select Enter manually to enter the dimensions that are not currently collected but will be collected in the future in the form of key.value.
- To add the same metric, click
. - To delete the added condition, click
. - For example, Metric: SERVER/is_on, Level: CRITICAL, Condition:=0, Method: AVG, Duration: 1min
A CRITICAL level event occurs when the AVG value of is_on of the SERVER is zero and lasts for more than one minute.
Edit Rule Template
When you edit a Rule Template, it is also reflected in the Monitoring Rule (Event Rule) that it is set to.
To edit a Rule Template:
- In the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to Menu > Services > Management & Governance > Cloud Insight.
- Navigate to Configuration > Template.
- Click [Rule Template].
- In the Rule Template list, select the Rule Template you want to edit and click [Edit].
- In the Select metric item step of the Edit Template popup, make any changes you want to make and then click [Next].
- After applying the changes you made in the set and confirm step, click [Save].
- If you have Event Rules that are affected by the template edit, a notification popup appears. In the notification popup, check the affected Event Rules and click [Save].
Delete Rule Template
When you delete a Rule Template, the monitoring rules (Event Rules) that it is set to are also deleted.
To delete a Rule Template:
- In the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to Menu > Services > Management & Governance > Cloud Insight.
- Navigate to Configuration > Template.
- Click [Rule Template].
- Select the Rule Template from the Rule Template list, and then click [Delete].
- Check the contents of the notification popup and click [OK].
