Once you've reviewed the Data Catalog specifications, quickstart, and glossary, you're ready to start using the service. Your first step is subscribing to Data Catalog.

Subscribe to the service

To subscribe to Data Catalog from the NAVER Cloud Platform console:

  • To use Data Catalog, you must first apply for service to Object Storage. For more information about Object Storage, see Object Storage user guide.
  • You can go directly to the interface in step 4 by clicking [Subscribe] in the Services > Big Data & Analytics > Data Catalog> Big Data & Analytics > Data Catalog menu of the NAVER Cloud Platform portal.
  1. Access the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
  2. In the top right of the console, click Region and Platform.
  3. Select your region and VPC platform, and then click [Apply].
  4. In the top left of the console, click i_menu.
  5. Navigate to Services > Big Data & Analytics > Data Catalog.
  6. Click [Subscribe].
  7. Check the details in the notification popup, and click [Create] .

Unsubscribe from the service

You can unsubscribe from Data Catalog via the NAVER Cloud Platform console.

Caution

Unsubscribing from the service permanently deletes all created databases, tables, and setup information.

To cancel your service subscription:

  1. Access the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
  2. In the top right of the console, click Region and Platform.
  3. Select your region and VPC platform, and then click [Apply].
  4. In the top left of the console, click i_menu.
  5. Navigate to Services > Big Data & Analytics > Data Catalog.
  6. Click the Subscription menu.
  7. Click [Subscribed] and then click Unsubscribe.
  8. In the unsubscription popup, review the details and click [Unsubscribe].

Reload

If the connection to the catalog is unstable, or if the catalog is normal but the scanner is not functioning correctly, or the database is not being created, you can reload the catalog settings information to normalize the connection.

Note

You can check the status of the catalog from the Database menu. For more information, see Database interface.

Note

If you created and specified a new encryption bucket to use the Object Storage encryption bucket after applying to use the Data Catalog, you need to reload it. (1 time only).

To reload the catalog:

  1. From the NAVER Cloud Platform console, navigate to Services > Big Data & Analytics > Data Catalog.
  2. Click the Subscription menu.
  3. Click [Reload].
  4. When the Reload popup appears, read the precautions and click the [Run reload].
    • During reload, the catalog status is displayed as reconfiguring.
    • Once the reload is complete, the catalog status is displayed as normal.
