If you've checked the specifications required by the Data Catalog and duly noted usage scenarios and glossary, you're ready to start using Data Catalog. The very next step is to apply to use Data Catalog.
Request subscription
The following is how to request Data Catalog on the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
- To use Data Catalog, firstly request subscription to Object Storage. For more information, see Object Storage guide.
- If you click the [Request subscription] button in the Service > Big Data & Analytics > Data Catalog menu of the NAVER Cloud Platform portal, you can go directly to the screen in step 4.
- Access the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
- From the Platform menu, click and select VPC.
- Click the Services > Big Data & Analytics > Data Catalog menus, in that order.
- Click the [Request subscription] button.
- Check the details in the notification popup window, and then click the [Create] button.
Cancel subscription
You can cancel the subscription application from the NAVER Cloud Platform console.
When you cancel the service, all created databases, tables, and setting information will be deleted.
The following describes how to cancel subscription.
- In the VPC environment of NAVER Cloud Platform Console, click the Services > Big Data & Analytics > Data Catalog menus, in that order.
- Click the Subscription menu.
- Click the [Subscribing] button, and then click Cancel subscription.
- Check the details in the cancellation popup window, and then click the [Cancel] button.
Reload
If the catalog connection is unstable, or if the catalog status is normal but the scanner does not operate normally or the database is not created, catalog setting information can be reloaded to normalize the connection.
You can check catalog status from the Database menu. For more details, see Database screen.
The following shows how to reload catalog.
- From the NAVER Cloud Platform console, click the Services > Big Data & Analytics > Data Catalog menu, in that order.
- Click the Subscription menu.
- Click the [Reload] button.
- When the notification popup window appears, check the cautions and click [Run reload].
- During Reload, the status of the catalog is displayed as Resetting.
- When the reload is complete, the status of the catalog is displayed as normal.
